I think next time if want to discuss this issue we can do it in VIP. But then again, what's to stop Iras from sending an agent to join us and in VIP. So the saying "You can run but you can't hide" is true. Just be prudent with what we post. no.gifno.gifno.gif

By openly stating how much we can earn is letting the authorities knows how much we can actually earned and thus, making things difficult for cabbies. Hence, till today they are not reviewing the individual taxi ownership. Why make things easier for the authorities? We should on the other hand push the authorities and let them realize we cabbies are not your easy target.

1. Let's boycott all the 3 terminals and see if the authorities will re-look into adjusting the surcharges. (This will work if ONLY all cabbies remain supportive of each other, and that includes kiasi, kiasu drivers)

Maybe we can take this opportunity to see how many in our club will support the idea???

i have been driving as a full time cabby for 4 months. in the begining, i will drive 6 days a week, i start from 6 am to 10.30am. again from 12pm to 10pm. after deducting all expenses, i only make 40 to 60. now with relirf driver even worse, i only make 10 to 30 dollars. i am really on the edge of giving up. bearing in mind, have to put up with those selfish, arrogant proud cabbies, to them it seems like i am their foe. any bros out there, could be kind enough to advise me, is it i have a problem, or this is the trend now. thanking all bros in advance

Dear Bro Funnybone

Learn to take it easy. Do not take it too hard on yourself
One must learn to relax. Today, we can't make it there is always tomorrow in our profession. Don't force yourself if there is a mishap min. is $1000 plus loss of income. If you work too hard and don't make your target you will get jaded the next day you take your key to start your engine.
Learn where the best spot to find more paxs, take note of time and places. This is where I started learning, slowly expand your location.
Ajust your own suitable work hour which suit you best.

Any Bros would like to add or comments, as I stand to be corrected

Life is short. Be happy and bless we are able to see the sun when we wake up.
Though we need money to survive here please don’t stress up youself

Cheers

First week into driving I'm alrdy in love with this career

Perfect for me and my personality

I don't like to argue, don't like to enter politics, don't like to bootlicking, don't like to lie etc

This job I'm only responsible to myself

Wake up late, no issues, no boss to answer to

Go home early, no issues, no colleagues to tongue wagging

Good days, work extra harder. Bad days, rest for next day

Good customer, get tips. Bad customer, get paid.

Most important is getting a routine and route suits yourself
Say for me, morning I will patrol down my neighborhood heading to next neighborhood
Frm jurong west to jurong east to clementi or bt batok to bt timah

Along the way sure got pax heading to work.
Then get back to the nearest residential or nearest hotel
Say frm marina to telok blangah or tiong bahru up to queens way to clementi etc

Afternoon schools and makan places

Evening any advance job nearby my place going to town I will take and frm there pick and go
Cbd areas are good pick ups

Midnight. Pubs. Cineplex. Airport

Of course I don't run 24/7 even though id like to

Hi TS,

share with you a bit more about success - Below is what I called True Success.

The true secrets to success are not those Bachelor / Masters or PHD Degree certificates from NUS or NTU or any other Overseas Universities, nor association with the riches, CEO, EVP or VPs from Blue Chips Companies or any Man-in-White. Our own true successes are also not from applause from others or know how to make a wise business decision or an investment opportunities. It is also not from any inheritance of any wealth or estate from parents or relatives.

The true, never-ending secrets to successes are in fact our own sorrows, disappointments, blood & tears shed, frustrations, mental tortures and all kind of failures you have or are currently experiencing.

Without these hurtful experiences, on one can truly know himself or herself, recognise one courage and be self awakened.

These adversities and headaches mentioned above are in fact the pillars that support a man's character and build up his or her spirit and strengthen one determination.

As for those taxi uncles you have mentioned, without them (enemies), how can a man cherish his or her friends?

All of us here have within us a talent that when found, creates a boldness that attracts and encourages all to find that Gift - hence a man must explore, and go touch the fires of doubts.

We all must build on sand, be foolish and scar our soul with humility.

When all is lost, all is also found. One mansion's of success is built on single block of stone carved with there own failures.
