Very very interesting. The experiences and the displays of emotions.

I would like to add my two cents worth.

First observation : Seems like the same and every uncle will have to go through.

Second obsevation : EQ differs individually; i.e. How intensely emotional and the reactions can be

different from each Uncle.

Third Obs :The realization process, quote : " I hope I will never evolved to a nasty taxi driver. "

Well said. I am very normal just like everyone and also have the tendency to slip down the slippery road :

Hair all white , grouchy, never smile and finally when pax greets you and states destination BBC basically bo chup

and ZERO response ( like talking to a wall ). I don't think anyone( uncle ) here wants that.

We need to constantly be a strength to one another and remind all to be patient and rational.

TAKE IT EASY !!! DONT WORRY BE HAPPY !!! TOMORROW WILL BE A BETTER DAY!!!

They say that music calms the fiercest beast. So I reccomend that all taxi uncle equip themselves with a good sound system and play their favorite songs/music while on the road. Not too loud as to be raucous..just loud enuff to be appreciated and enjoyed.

... just take it as you are sending some cargo to its locations... ignore whatever sounds coming out from the pax...

This is probably the best solution smile.gif
Not to degrade our attitude, not to compromise any $ collection, not to forget driving safety... etc.

Last night I already changed my mindset thinking... no more pain now.
When taking horrible pax I treat my taxi as casket vehicle cos ferrying dead persons... as long as I collected my fare dun care peace.gif

Remember when I attend the MDT course, my instructor told us, when on the road u meet all kind of pax.... stay cool regardless how nasty they are, is only 5 ,10 mins if suay half an hour....after collecting the fare ,pax alighted ,door closed, is over. Must collect fare. Getting upset is bad for your health.

That incident was the first time I exploded. Like some people say...if you kick a cat or dog usually it will run away, sometime it will attack.

Agree with canton boy...pax did told me that some TD when pax tell them their destination, turn right or left, they bo chup, zero response. Those who are not TD will not understand why n what have they gone thru.

Most pax are good. Some even say "thank you uncle" when I stop to pick them up. My response is alway "thank you, you brighten up my day."

Yup. I am evolving day by day. Last weekend I knew that I'm progressing to a "soft skin snake" stage, pax say what I totally ignore if I wish to. I demand $ though pax refuse, I said u step one leg into the taxi the meter sure started, u one foot outside smoking still need to pay waiting time otherwise I call police. He said, no lar, just ask see if got discount or not...

Glad to realize now I am discernable, I started to run away & reject call in stead of anyhow flashing hazard light. I must say there are 99% good & friendly passengers on the road, I shouldn't allow the lousy 1% spoil my day.
