Old Bird vs GPS

Never used GPS before and too stubborn to use.
Last night, same hesitation again. Maybe GPS can advise.

From Sentosa to Tg Kling Jurong Shipyard. Wanted to go by AYE.
Reached the main exit of Sentosa, hesitated just like before,
to turn left or right ? confused.gif

Old bird will go right and tell you less traffic light to hit AYE,new bird like me will go left and turn right at Alexandra Rd then hit AYE.Though i never turn right before, but i think there shouldn"t be much difference here.Turn right for sure more smooth journey throughtout, turn left if doesn"t stuck in any red light should be a little bit cheaper in fare.If stuck in traffic light,i think same same.IMHO

What does the GPS says? I presume it's turn left.

i have been otr for a while and learning gps, smile

so
by right,
err.. i meant the old timer usually turn left due to habit,
(that's the old way before the new aye entrance via Keppel)

on the other hand,
GPS will suggest according to priority set for
options below,

(1) fastest route,
(2)shortest route,
(3)route without tolls/erp
(4)default setting

therefore it's at the discreetion of the driver/pax when neccessary,
and so long as it's get to the destination within a reasonably fare & time.

cheers,
Sam

if you turn right, there is only 1 traffic junction.

if you turn left, there are at least7 traffic lights.

Most pax will want u to turn left and go by Telok Blangah Rd > Pasir Panjang Rd >
West Coast Highway > Jln Buroh > Tg Kling.
This is the most direct and shortest route to Tg Kling, not taking into account the
number of traffic junctions.

Exactly, this was the reason for the hesitations.

Still like a stubborn old uncle, using the same old way before
the new AYE entrance via keppel was built.
Always turn left, never once turn right before.
Need to ask myself again why don't turn right. confused.gif

I no need to ask pax. My GPS use Moshi2 route as it is set to shortest route. No questions asked or offered.

bro, if use AYE via Keppel entrance, that means u have to turn right and go
ALL THE WAY to end of Keppel Rd, past Tg Pagar junction and made a U-turn.
r u going for sight-seeing???
