Hi everyone,

Greetings to all... I will be taking the 4 tests this coming Friday and if passed, then most probably I will be a relief driver. I think that this app is very helpful and I truly appreciate it. I've DL the app and playing with it to get a feel of it. Currently as I'm not driving, I am not able to contribute much. But as I'm still driving my own private vehicle, would I be able to contribute?

Thanks
Sportee

PM james or ROM, they may be able to assist.

No worries, davkou. Safety and pax most important. I am sure we will have the opportunity to hi-5 some day some where.

I always give my pax full attention and will not chat on parlingo when i have pax on board, unless to report critical traffic info.

Cheers

First all, thank you TU for attending to Sporteeaww

Welcome to the family & all the best to your coming examswink

We will welcome all taxi drivers to the channel but I'm sorry that since you have not start driving a taxi, it is better for you to start and you can join us on your first day as a taxi driver.

I apologize for that. You can refer to the previous post by James for reasons. I hope you can understand our situation & I hope to see you soon in the channel when you are ready smile

Started by very first day as a taxi driver yesterday night from 8.30pm onwards and I must truly says; its a humbling experience. Last customer complained that I took the wrong route and kbkb, at 3.30am. Picked them up outside hotel 81 along lavender. The male is a black man while the lady looks like a local Chinese. Informed them that I was new in the beginning and still kena. anyway, not too bad for the first day grossing 160:) Thank God...

Hey Sportee,

Congrats on your first night. It happens. Normally, we will confirm the route before we move off. Like, I go by Serangoon road, then PIE OK? etc...The best pax I find are those that tell you exactly which route to take. Saves all the trouble..

another type is, they have money to play in a casino, but cannot afford few more cents for a merz cab.

i used to drive a merz cab, and pax in MBS walks to the other cab behind me just to save few cents. confuse

hi i am from another palringo channel and i stumbled upon this thread . Sorry cant help but need to add some comments.

Regarding one of the newbie's complain about the hassle of taking a pic of his MDT with his name and number plate , though the 'ritual' sounds strange to me too . But couldnt you just switch on your meter and have the details reflected so that you can take a picture and send it to the admin? Or u zbh until no time to even do that?

Simply said I think its all about making an effort. I find it strange too that the admins has to apologise , if that is the rule thats drawn up by them , then abide by it. Like i said , turn on the meter and take a pic , how difficult can that be ?

The channel i am in , its a closed group. Everyone has met someone at least once be it kopi session / BBQ etc etc

We go on referrals , like a member can bring someone else in . Any misbehaviour or non activity , we will hold the existing guy responsible instead of the newbie.

After reading , it seems that you guys take in all and sundry , i dont know how effective will that be but im quite sure the admins will be extremely busy trying to maintain order.

Good Luck

I have stated the reasons and necessity for verification for selected new members. Thank you TCL for demonstrating the ease of compliance.

While the apology is unnecessary, its a gauge of Rom's humility. Nice guy to the end.

There is a proliferation of channels. We have a clear direction and culture. We currently have 78 members. More eyes otr means better coverage

and up to date infos. Owing to the large number, we discourage tcss. That's done in supplementary channels.

Most members have met in person and readily rendered help to fellow members. Don't drive alone. Cheers.
