2 fired for 4-minute Ferrari joyride

A bellboy and a valet, both of whom worked at Hotel Michael in Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), were accused by a 61-year-old retiree of taking a joyride of about four minutes in his Ferrari 458 on April 23.

They were fired immediately.

And now, the owner of the $1 million car is asking for compensation.

The man's lawyer, Mr Chia Boon Teck, confirmed this, but declined to reveal details.

It is believed that the compensation sought is a few thousand dollars.

The Ferrari owner, a retired businessman who wanted to be known only as Preston, told The New Paper that he had driven to RWS around 2.30am to meet a friend from Shanghai.

He had parked outside Hotel Michael after being told he could park there by "a guy in uniform".

"The guy pointed me to the left side of the hotel facing the main road," he said.

"I asked him twice if I could park there, and he said yes."
