There are many ways against us TD and of course, do it right and cover yourself. In the end of the day, we just want to earn a living and try our best to avoid any accident, including trouble. All the best :)
There was a case sometime ago in the paper. Taxi driver did not stop when flagged.
Pax lodge a complain. Taxi co. found out ... that taxi driver starts meter less than 200 mtrs away.
Regardless of what sign taxi driver put. This is a clear cut case.

what if the situation at the time when the pax was flagging (road side) was not safe to stop?

Well, TU for the sake or arguing everything n anything can be argue.

I rather spend my time making $$$ otr.

I know what to do to avoid trouble. Many TS are on my no go list.

TU, of course arguable. I can also say that I really did not see the pax, which happens sometimes.

I think TD very poor thing. If kana complaint then Lana investigating.
If say u pickup a passenger, then 100metres down the road there is a TS with queue.
People in queue saw and complaint how?
Sometimes new driver may not know there is a TS 100m down the road

It's what I had said earlier.

1. There is a CBD taxi rule, Mon to Sat, 7.30 am to 8 pm where u cannot pick up pax anywhere where buses ply except at taxi stands. If u can't pick pax anywhere, then the next logical conclusion is it must be at taxi stands only.

2. During these times, if your taxi is ready for hire and u skip the taxi stand where there are pax waiting, you will be booked and fined.

So yes, you cannot choose taxi stands where and when you like. You must pick up the pax at the taxi stand nearest to you when you pass by it during those restricted hours. If u skip the taxi stand, then u are being choosy. It's the same as if pax flag u on the road and u ignore them.

LTA will station officers there to book u. Be careful.
