Hi Jason, yes rules by LTA for all taxi companies to comply.

TD have logbooks to clock the mileage.

250km is full shift (24 hrs). no specific timing but drivers usually drive during peak hours to take advantage of the surcharges and higher demand.

if i'm not wrong, the taxi company only needs to meet the 250KM per day for 25% of their fleet.

the percentage will increase annually to meet the market demand.

i think the data can be collected by the MDT effortlessly.

Originally, 70% of the fleet must clock 250km daily. 70% of the fleet must be on the road during the peak hours.

With effect from 1 Jan 2014, both of these percentages have been raised to 80%.

In 2015, both will be further raised to 85%.

thnx sir.......wah like that jialat for omo. - Seems like LTA trying to discourage those going omo? Or trying to wayang for the public so as not to seem impotent......taxi fare not reasonable enough? Taxi pax in Singapore too pampered? Try taking cab at our nearest neighbour dare to Kpkb anot?

For a 12 hr shift, no sitting at kopitiam chit chatting, just 30 mins lunch, some pee or smoke breaks, 250km should not be a problem..

yes, LTA is trying to make taxi to spend more time OTR rather than parking inside geyland or MBS carpark.
definitely to discourage OMO so more people can drive a taxi and cover the demand during peak hours.
