TDVL recruits report here

Hello all respected Taxi Drivers, ladies and gentleman, biggrin

I am about to embark on my journey of becoming a TD. Just enrolled for the course today at SMRT and got the schedule for part time TDVL course starting 1/7/2015-30/7/2015.

I was in for a shock when I saw the paper stating that one needs to wear neat shirt with collar, pants and shoes to attend the course! Is this for real? Can someone who has taken the course from SMRT clarify?Anyway the lady just told me to bring my IC and necessary documents on the first day like photo...etc

I have not decide on which company to join but for sure i will be starting as a relief driver for weekends first. Hope I can learn more from you seniors in this forum. For now I only have a few questions:

1)Anyway I can start as a relief driver without the need to pay $1000 Deposit?

2)Whats the difference between me joining a company as relief or finding hirers myself?

3)If i sign up as a comfort relief driver does that mean I can only drive CDG taxis?

4) Last but not least the most practical question, any tips for the TDVL test? I understand there are five modules?

Thanks and warmest regards to all,

MAY WE ALL GET A PAX LIKE THE ONE IN MY PROFILE PIC EVERYDAY!

Have you found a hirer? If not can go through your taxi company database.

let me try to answer your questions.

I have not decide on which company to join but for sure i will be starting as a relief driver for weekends first. Hope I can learn more from you seniors in this forum. For now I only have a few questions:

1)Anyway I can start as a relief driver without the need to pay $1000 Deposit?

can, only the yellow top taxi which is private own. the deposit for other taxi company can be paid by installment.

2)Whats the difference between me joining a company as relief or finding hirers myself?

go around your house carpark and start putting note on the screen. or login to their website to search for a match.

3)If i sign up as a comfort relief driver does that mean I can only drive CDG taxis?

can drive as many as you wish as long as you can afford the deposit for each company.

4) Last but not least the most practical question, any tips for the TDVL test? I understand there are five modules?

can't help this, i passed my test 8 years ago. :)

Thanks and warmest regards to all,
