Look on the bright...b4 any FT can drive ...he better speak good english and well.

Our courses are conducted in english right ?

Another point to note is that with the government focusing so much on the tourist dollars , IRs , F1...

Would they risk it by having FT messing the market n upsetting our foreign paxs ?

I sense that if all the above activities are to be taken seriously .....only local Drivers can deliver ..and more professionally.

like uncle dan said...rules may change...FT may not be req'd to have a VL to drive a cab...only driving license...why...

simple answer...coy will 'employ' these FTs as drivers...pay them dirt cheap w/o cpf...

the question we ask ourself is...if this really do take place & take away our pie...do we just resign our fate or be united & be heard?

relax bro mecabby. Why you think so far? Just do yr thing and earn enuff. If the gov thinks this is the right way, then y bother so much. Just concentrate and earn enuff for yr family. You think the taxi drivers in Singapore will protest because of this matter . I think not. Dun forget the pioneer of the chinese people come from where else but China . Me my grandfather come from Indonesia. If the china man think they can survive in Singapore then we must welcome them here.

welcome back...long time no hear from you...glad u are back to our new home

now back to FTs...yes agreed with you that our forefathers were also not from here...but at those periods s'pore is really very small in population & trade...now is a different scenerio

see our roads nowadays you can tell we dun have any more road space...look at our housing...or for that matter our daily food...we are now competing with FTs here

sadly...whenever i pick up FTs at condos...i sometimes say to myself silently...here i am... born here & still struggling to make a living...here he is(FT) living in a posh condo & treat us cabbies like 3rd world

these thoughts are also in the minds of our citizens...esp those working in offices

so when s'pore aims to have 6 million people inclu FTs...can our childern compete with them...even LKY dun think so

Whether can our next gen compete with others is beyond our control.
As for FT being cabbie, it's still on my mind on how we can prevent it from happening for as long as possible.
I know FT as our cabbie seems inevitable but i still feel that there muz be something we can do to prevent it from happen in the near future.

Hi all Bros

This topic may be real to ponder n fret over.

However, am sure the authority n coy alike will need to think carefully before FT are allowed to drive our roads.

It is quite common to hear our locals complaining about being served by ft n what's common about this problem is communication...not only does it annoy or irate the consumer or customer.s...when fts blunder at the front line...they have our locals to rescue their ass from being fried...

imagine ..if the Fts are behind the wheel n irritate our local n foreign passengers alike...there is no one to support or rescue him...except his own ass...

What happens next....?

Complains n more complains...like the taxistands issue...this time is a small issue which can revert quickly n easily...

but when passengers locals n tourist alike are involve...this is no longer a small issue n they better think carefully before allowing ft to drive...
