according to the police force... running away from taxi fare or not paying taxi fare is NOT A CRIME!!!!
if ppl dont pay bus fare or cheat bus fare ITS A CRIME!!!! WHERE IS THE LOGIC????????????
thats why there is alot of pax that dont pay taxi fare and there is nothing WE cabbies can do about it at all.... are the taxi's ASSO's doing anything about it for cabbies??

They are very bz wiping ppl backside, no time for all these no pay fare nonsense.
It's not a crime not to pay taxi fare, but it's a crime to hurt someone intentionally, why the police don't charge them for hurting someone?
It's not what they have done wrong, it's what kinda charges can we bring against them.
Remember, if you are hurt while on the job and the culprit happens to be caught, sue them for the harm incur.

It is a CRIME taking cab without paying. one can be fined up to $1000/-

Why d police r not taking action against d hooligans???
Is it just becoz d victim is a cabbie??
Is there no other avenue that the driver can seek justice??
Maybe someonehere can provide an answer.

yes bro moshi is correct...not paying taxi fare is a criminal offence now

however in law...to make it criminal offence one has to make a police report wink

remember the case of SIA girl got slapped by towkay's wife?...the wife hadsettled out of court by paying damages to SIA girl...was reported minimium was $60000...the wife thought that's the end of it...she didnt know there's a criminal charge involve bcos a police report was made

so if you want to charge pax who dun pay...report to police...but hor who wants to take this trouble yea?

Taxi driver get beaten police say no case and if you not satisfied you can to get your own lawyer to sue them. But when bus driver get beaten by passenger then the story is different police will step in. I dont know why there is no helpline for taxi driver if they encounter any problem like people not paying or get beaten up.

If a person alight from your taxi and did not pay then what can the driver do :
1) quarrel and insist they pay and if needed use force on them
2) Ask for their identity card and copy down details to report to police before letting them go
3) Take a photo with a camera and let them go so when they left we can make a police report
4) give them a free ride and forget it

I ever call up LTA and ask them the question above and ask them to choose a answer. They cant answer me and push me to call other department.

I once sent a passenger, a potatoe (yellow on the outside and white on the inside) to a condo in Upper Bt Timah. He did not even asked whether i accept card or not before he boarded my cab and when he reached the destination he did not want me to send him to the nearest ATM or get help from his friend at the Condo to pay me. He said it was my problem if i do not accept card and it is not his fault.

I called the police and i was told to report to company to seek help to recover the fare.

WTF??? so many of this farkers not paying cabbies!!! radigaga.. u not the only 1 i also kena 1 on call pax reach destination say forgot take out wallet and gives me a oversea hp nos. i called later but cant get thru and called the oncall office nos and cannot get the person too.. feedback to coy and never hear anything from them yet!!!! 2 weeks already and when i make a police report the officer who took my report says that it not a CRIME when i ask them if they will investigate this case.. KNN

Take taxi and not paying is not a crime. Beating taxi driver up and not paying is also not a crime. Then what sorts of thing is consider a crime and if that is the case why is there a need to have police.

Forget the money and move off to get more money......

out of 100 pax the most i get 1 to 2 scrumbagss...

I was told that our flag down rate already cover some of this issue by the LTA

Get a life and move on.. nopoint waste hours to report where we getting 20 to 30 an hour.....

I repeat again .... not worth it for 2% fare runner....
