I'm invited for a dialogue by comfort

summerise respond after the dialogue

A. taxi rental
due to the 35% increased of fare for the peak hour, all of our biz is
greatly affected. i hope the coy can lower the rental to help the drivers
to tide over the bad time.

comfort reply in red

drivers should look into the whole package comfort offer. as a whole,
the incentive is all about the same. either by cash or free rental.

B. taxi population
reduce the number of taxi on the road.

this is not determine by comfort, is by the LTA. in fact, comfort is now
suffering with lower number of fleet compared to few years ago.

C. airport
to avoid unpleasant situation with short journey from airport after the
driver been in the Q for hours, impose a min chrg of $12 to anywhere.
those that go to as near as pasir ris would still pay $12. long distance
would not be affected.

is looking into it. is also in discussion with CIAS to setup a message board
at the ECP to indicate the demand level of the respective terminal 500m
b4 the taxis reach the first terminal. this is to enable drivers to decide
which terminal to go.

D. taxi stand
where to stop, wait n pick-up pax when the taxi-stand is already taken up.

comfort have written to LTA. basically, this system would be run as a trial
for the month of march to see the any possible hidden problem that may
arise. therefore, there wouldn't be any summon to be issued to driver
for that month.
Razz

E. private bus
taking our pax during morning rush hours.

didn't ask, running out of time.

F. FT
would there be a day that the comfort decided to allow FT to drive a taxi?

this is fall under LTA.

G. MDT
to add pax name n location for identification purposes when taking calls.

yes, comfort is improving on this matter.

H. diesel rebate to switch from cash to medisave

this is available at anytime. juz fill in a form from the CPF and a certain
amount of your money from your account will be transfered to your
medisafe.

"What kind of Dialogue session"???? Only invited 20??? or just 20 turn up. If just invite only 20, how would it be fruitful or representative feed-back ( sorry I don't mean you guys are not effective ) out of the 15,000 plus drivers that they have. Or they are stingy with the door gifts so probaby if they invite more maybe door will be......Also wandering if the people form the taxi asso are there.

Judging from some of their answers they seem to also lack the time. But as far as if our guys are invited and we make an effort to ask/query valid matters then they may not take things for granted.

I was at the dialogue with Taxiuncle.
According to the rep from the coy, these kind of dialogue they held very frequently, i can't remember the actual frequency but definitely more than twice a year.
That's why they invite around 20 or so Hirer to participate.
I was very surprise when they say that they held these kind of dialogue often cos it's the 1st time i've heard about it.
Any other brudders here attend b4?

dialogue session were previously known as " teochew porridge session ".
the management team invited hirers over meal time at the meeting room and brainstorm osbtacles facing thier operations and seek improvements.

this unorthodox approach was started by their ex-GM ( Sam ) in the mid '90s ....

Fah! nowday the budget shrinks liao ? ? wtf ...

should'nt these dialogue be minuted & sent to all hirers?

i mean if only 20 attended...those at this forum are fortunate to knowthe outcome sincetaxiuncle & bluenuts fedback...just imagine the rest of hirers whodun visit this forum just dun know what had been transpired...right?

efforts by the 20 to improve taxi drivers have gone unnoticedconfused.gif

the bottomline from me to those that might be invited to attend one next time is....mai liao li a si gan (dont waste your money making time)

The way I see it is that the fellas at TOA should holh such dialogue sessions with thier members. To boast their representations, they should also increase their membership with more aggressive recruiting. They should be also there at such dialogue sessions. But sigh...these people are just.....

The coy is also another great divider of unity:
1. Limit invitation to small numbers
2. Limit to just Hirers, what about Relief drivers
3. TOA people excluded
........

All these just to ensure all are not united so that no united front can be present to them.

bro rich

thats why we must form Taxi Drivers Asso...which represent all drivers from different coys

its a washout if big coy only invite its own hirers...worst if they invite its own TOA...its just one sided affair...they invite every year for the sake to keep records that hirers are very happy with themfurious

Sigh.....several times in previous forum the subject of forming some kind of Asso, Taxi Union were mention but the response were pathetic. Even the Forum Day/Night I suggested had result in no response so how can it ever be successful. Maybe it is this just ONE MORE STEP that each and everyone of us must take ( if 30 of us already 30 steps forward )...Possible? Yes if you would. Impossible, is also possible and the world would just pass us by.

Setting up and properly register a taxi union to represent all taxi drivers in singapore is possible. BUT before thinking of starting one, We need to recruit more taxi drivers into our club. Presently our members are less than 50 and some of them may not be supportive when a taxi union is formed. We need to have at least 500 drivers in our club before our voices and suggestions will be heard. Meanwhile lets not think so far ahead and we should think of ways to recruit more members like distributing flyer first.

wish there's someone in our forum be our leader sigh

im sure all bros here are willing to pay mthly fee of $8 x 500 = $4K for a start

lets keep hoping it will materialiseidea
