"Taxi driver reeked of alcohol and could not drive straight!"
ev0n had a bad experience she wished to share with the STOMP community. "The driver of the taxi I sat in, reeked of alcohol and could not keep in his own lane!" she says.Said the STOMPer in an email today (Apr 24):
"At 830pm on Apr 22, I boarded an allocated Premier Silvercab taxi with a colleague from 2 Pioneer Crescent to Jurong West.
"The driver was not driving in his own lane and was swerving from right to left.
"As I was sitting behind him, I could not see what he was drinking but I know he kept belching.
"When I checked with my colleague yesterday about this, she told me the driver was drinking beer as he reeked of alcohol.
"I find this to be a ridiculous situation as a taxi driver's responsibility is the safety of his passengers.
"With the recent focus by the authorities on the dangers of drink driving, imagine the risk of sitting in a taxi whose driver was drinking!"
STOMP has contacted the cab company and is waiting for a reply.
Something's not quite make sense in this article leh...... Pioneer Cres..... 8.30pm........allocated taxi (On Call)......... This cabbie must be waiting for booking job in that area. Tell me, bros, which stupid dumb ass will puposely go to that ulu area, wait for booking job to earn a few dollars extra, and drink alcohol while driving with pax inside the cab ?????? It just don't seem to be the truth........ You will belch even when you drink Red Bull or Apple drinks or any other more gassy soft drinks mah.........
I ever witnessed a indian silvercab driver drinking a can of beer while stopping at a traffic light at hoy fatt road just beside me a few months ago. I was shocked that he can drink beer so openly while driving. There was another indian guy sitting beside him and looks like it was his friend. Maybe he was the same driver who knows.
Note: I am not racist and just happened that he was an indian and i witnessed it myself.
