Airbags for Taxis?

Airbags for both front seats needed in taxis
WHILE the present hot topic on seat belts in cars lasts, allow me to highlight another very important subject on road safety: Airbags in taxies.

Some older makes of taxis do not have airbags at all, and some have only one - for the driver. The newer Toyota, Nissan and Mercedes taxis are the only makes with two airbags - for the driver and front seat passenger.

As injuries caused by an accident on the highway at 90kmh can be fatal, it is about time that the LTA make rules for the fitting of airbags for the front seats.

Dear All,
Even the new Sonata and Kia taxis doesn't comes with airbag, company thinks that it is extra cost. The Azera only comes with driver airbag. All this vehicle comes with atleast 2 front airbag on the normal private owned vehicles.
