ERP gantry accidentally activated, 538 motorists to be refunded by LTA
LTA (Land Transport Authority) will refund motorists who were charged at a KPE gantry yesterday (Sept 3), between 11am and noon, following a STOMPer¡¯s email that he was charged that particular gantry.
LTA said it will refund 538 vehicles who were affected by the erroneous deductions amounting to about $800.
In his email to STOMP, the STOMPer wrote today (Sept 4):
¡°I was driving through the KPE tunnel exit towards PIE at around 12pm and was surprise to be charge $2 at gantry 82 for using the KPE.¡±
STOMP contacted LTA and a spokesman said:
¡°Between 11am and noon on 3 September 2008, ERP contractors from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, while carrying out routine testing, accidentally activated one of the Phase 1 ERP gantries at KPE slip road exiting to PIE at Sims Avenue.
¡°A total of 538 vehicles were affected with erroneous deductions amounting to a total of about $800.
¡°LTA has made arrangements to refund the motorists for the amount that had been wrongly deducted with a $10 cashcard, which covers the fee that had been wrongly deducted and also provide a small token as our apology for the inconvenience caused.¡± -----------------------------------------------00000000------------------------------ public response:-

Wow 1 hour the ERP earn $800 and that was KPE with few car passing. Just imagine how much will they earn for ERP at CTE on a single weekday morning. Since it was their error should claim twice the charged amount back from them.
