To the bafflement of a cab user, an extra $1 was billed to his cab account, and he is perplexed at this surcharge imposed.
Zumanity emailed STOMP, and said:
"I boarded a Yellow Top cab on 28-10-08, one day after the Deepavali holiday. I was surprised to see a $1 holiday surcharge indicated on the cab meter.
"The driver said this surcharge is automatically determined by the cab company, something he has no control over.
"Has the cab company forgotten to make adjustment for the shifting of Deepavali from 28-10-08 to 27-10-08? What if the passengers unknowingly pay the $1 surcharge? What does the cab company has to say, given the potentially large number of taxi passengers being 'cheated' of the $1 on a normal working day?"
As this is a yellow-top cab and is a privately-owned vehicle, STOMP is contacting the LTA for a comment. We have also requested for the licence plate of the cab. ----------------------------------------00000000000000000------------------------------ bad coy admin or smart being idiot
