this reminded me of an incident i witnessed in victoria st many years ago. a police car sitting with 2 policemen sitting inside was stopping b4 a traffic light when me n many other including a few pretty jap tourist gals walk across from opposit to the bras basar complex. when i was walking pass, i saw the malay driver talking cheekily to the one sitting beside. looking at his facial impression n the 2 cheeky smiles, they were probably talking about the pretty jap gals. juz when the lights turned green, the police car pick-up n zoom very fast behind me. when i turn around, i saw the police car suddenly stop on the right most lane about 100m away from the traffic lights where it was stopping juz now. the next thing is, the driver who i think is a jackie chan's fan reverse his police car still on the right most lane furiously from where it is now to the direction of the traffic lights. he than trying to make a 180 degree about turn but.....eeeee.....bang!!! he managed to turn only 90 degree n the police car went up the kerb n hits the barricade. all the other by-standers including me were stunned. all remain standing there like a piece of wood. the policeman didnt stopped there. he probably wants some face lah, cannot malu there. i saw his shaking his head inside his police car b4 he made a fast move-off into the small street of bras basah n into the back lane of carlton hotel. to everybody there, we thought it must be a very serious case lah since he can compromise his backside n his police car backside to do all these. sikali u know wat i see? the 2 policemen walked down from the police car to check the damage???!!! nothing else.
for the above, i wrote to the ministry of home affair n SPF. an officer called me few days later n i was told the driver will be punished.
