hello Regit,,,,,,
2. How much relief driver need to pay the hirer if driving for 10hrs per day.>>

the BEST answer is ask your Hirer !!! and Yourself !!!
you need not to know how much your Hirer paid !! BUT are you comfortable with the rental that U pay........ !!

4. If hire for 1 day per week only do i need to clean the car?>>>
The answer is YES ! YES! YES! YES!
alot of relief kena "fire/kick-out" by the Hirer because of this 2 issues

regit, i replied to ur PM liao.

well, taxi rental r chrged by 24 hrs from the company one. if u rent for 12 hrs,
the rental should be split by half or sometime even lower (u pay lesser) on certain day.
some hirers 1 2 retain a good relief to drive on say sunday permanently n he will offer
lower. ask around n chk around, is not difficult to get a cab to drive on sunday.

b4 u agree to drive for the hirer, chk n agree the condition first.

1. time n location to collect n return cab.
2. need to clean or wash prior to return?
3. pump petrol back or pay mileage used?
4. how much or do u need to pay if u take urgent leave?

gd luck! smile.gif

Thanks for the reply, for the past few days i was ponding if hirer rent $70 per day from cab company and rent out $70 from 8am to 8pm to first relief driver and rent to another guy from 8pm to 8am for $50. Practically in one day he makes $50 for not even driving the cab. Anyway i will try out and see how things goes. Thanks again.

I have tried a day as a Taxis driver, but unfortunately I will temporary halt first due to some inconvenience and high rental. I will start again maybe if the rental is more accommodating for me. I started off with the wrong footing never taken certain aspect into consideration (rental). Overall I do make a pathetic meager profit but nothing to shout about. The stress and headache outweight the gain after near to 12hrs driving. Thanks again and if got cheaper rental do let me know. Thanks.

Hi Bridgestone, i didn't give out yet, still looking around bcos hirer place is very far from my place and also put off by the rental.
The one day dry run also shows me to the window of life as a Taxi driver (TD) and change my view and perspective of them, of course in the good light. It's sad that one's only come to light in the shoe of others , which in reality happens to me...
But, it's better have than never. With that I realized that this group are the more unfortunate hardworking guys making an honest living,as compared to those privilege office worker with better atmosphere getting a bigger pay but the only set back is
that they are not their own master and working in that treacherous society (company) having their daily working life dictate by others.
Freedom as a T.D do pay a price as the amount of labor is not neccesary proportional to the gain end of the day, it very much also dependent on luck.
Well, not everyday is fair weather, there are days that things don't seem to be on your side. But do not be despair there are always a better tomorrow. Need to stay healthy and strong to fight another day battle. Understandable the result of monetary gain is limited with only the fulfillment of basic needs. Big luxury ticket items like bungalow etc
is out of the equation. Hierarchy movement up to the corporate ladder to the pinnacle tip will just be a dream.
Haven’t say that I do not degrade the nature of the job as I mention I will be back…soon. But to most S'porean they do perceive T.D as lowly due to the complex mixed of the workforce. The nature of the jobs requirement is at basic level so that every individual from all walk of life with able body can make a living out of it. During the course of the first day dry run I do encountered some annoyance passenger raising their voice due to my lack in route direction, i just have to smile back and excuse their low tempermental threshold level. Nevertheless it leave me a deep impression that one's have to tread in a careful manner and exercise temper control management to be on the positive side.
As for me due to my nature of life style and society moulding after working for half of my life in the coporate level, i'm slowly killing the monster within my ownself and getting out of the comfort zone...Hope i will take pride in this job and move on from here. Thanks for reading.....
