The BEST route from anywhere to anywhere is always the route suggested by the pax. So, make it a habit to ask pax first if he/she has a preferred route. If no, then suggest your route for their approval. Better to play safe than sorry. You never know what kind of pax gets into your cab.
Alrite guys, there is this Singapore based route finder call gothere.sg , it utilises google maps to give you directions. So far I find it pretty useful, if you think you have a better route to offer, e-mail them and they would gladly use your suggestions if it turns out to be the case.
Based on gothere.sg fm JW St51 to IMH, best route is as bro bridgestone suggested, total mileage is 28.0km

Thanks bro YS for such valuable info. Auto routing definitely 99% better than human brain but but is not always applicable due to vehicle entry point; we may enter road from tail or head depends on which is shorter and pax feels happy.
For instance, Stirling Road to TPY Ave4 shouldn't ... PIE->CTE->Braddell and must be ...PIE->exit TPY Lor 1->Lor 4
Another route, from Shaw Center to Gangsa Rd: Autoroute: ...PIE->BKE->Bukit Panjang Rd But most pax prefer via DairyFarm->Petir Road bcos "seems shorter" though is almost same distance.
If I were the pax, @0900 I would prefer: JW51->Boon Lay Way->JTownHall->PIE->CTE->AMK5->BuangkokView (Journey 26km)
vs your route results a total 31.5km ($4+ difference including surcharge).
Bros, If u go by PIE to CTE, I think the pax will ask if u r going for a tour. Normal route to take will be: JW St 51 - JW Ave 1 - Corporation Rd - JW Ave 2 - PIE - Lornie Rd - Braddell Rd - CTE - AMK Ave 5 - Buangkok Green. Bear in mind the above routes do not take into consideration of traffic conditions. According to LTA guidelines, as long as we take the shortest route, we are safe. Traffic conditions are not our corcern and we have no control over traffic conditions, anyway. If you chose a longer route with lesser traffic (or so you thought), and got stuck in a massive jam becoz of road works or accidents or anything, you get yourself into heavy fire. Always remember: 'kiang tio ho, mai kei kiang' Cheers and good luck.

Not website, I use Mapsource to review problemetic routes that I've encounted every nite when I back home. Traffic I don't know bcos I drive night. In my opinion (pls correct me if I'm wrong), when pax has no preferrence then a good route could be: - whenever possible trunk road+expressway - SHORT and direct with minimal turning - minimal traffic lights (ave 20cents each red light)
Look at this shortest JW51->IMH: 1.....JurongWest St51.........................................0 m 2.....Get on Jurong West Ave 1 and drive east...0 m............0 m.............0:00:00 3.....Turn left onto Jurong Town Hall...................2.3 km.......2.3 km........0:02:31 4.....Turn right onto P.I.E (Changi) ramp............2.6 km.......329 m........0:00:50 5.....Exit left onto ramp onto Lornie Road...........12.8 km......10.2 km....0:08:08 6.....Keep right onto Macritchie Viaduct...............15.4 km......2.5 km......0:02:46 7.....Turn right onto Marymount Lane..................16.8 km......1.4 km......0:01:32 8.....Turn left onto Marymount Road....................17.0 km......193 m.......0:00:33 9.....Turn right onto Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5...........20.3 km.......3.4 km......0:04:08 10...Turn left onto Buangkok View......................24.9 km.......4.5 km......0:05:13 11...Turn left onto Buangkok View......................25.0 km.......112 m.......0:00:28 12...Arrival...........................................................25.0 km.......81 m........0:00:08
Total 25km in 00:26:17mins. However many traffic lights along JW1 eastbound + Marymount & AMK6. If choosing this route died already, bro moshi's still better IMO.

At that time Heavy traffic from Thomson/Bradddel towards PIE in Lornie Road not Pie to thomson.
