Is SG taxi passenger quality dropped?

Is SG taxi passengers quality dropped? Or due to some reasons their expectation getting higher? So many complaints such as "eating pau", "don't help loading lugges"...etc.

Newbie like me always catch no ball, should we do or don't... really confusing.

Last Saturday, a busy raining evening along Draycott Dr in front of Tanglin Club 3 passengers flagged my taxi, 2 ladies and 1 gentleman (I assume) formal suit dressed aboarded. Ladies first then followed by the gentleman whose right palm is wrapped with bandage I think probably injured during golf session.

When all sit in while the left door is still fully open, he commanded me to close the door! What? Hi mr, the door is not auto, you need to manually close it. The ladies told me his hand is injured; I know, but I requested him use his left hand to close instead of the handicap one cos I am a driver not a DOOR BOY.

Shall I go out under heavy rain closing the door?

For me, I will just sit there with the rain coming down on him and the meter running. FYI, I avoided picking up pax from the 2 club at draycott and claymore, all comfirm super short trip and all act as if there are some big f#@k...

Another I avoided is the condo there, I think is draycott park or draycott 8, the one next to tanglin club, the security see taxi coming in with on-call sign on, will get very jumpy as if see a terrorist car coming in... wtf.

Thus, I personally avoided going to that area altogether...

Perhaps they flag the wrong vehicle, they should flag for an ambulance instead

Sometimes effort does not come with reward especially wth angmo. Was at the airport, as usual open the booth and wait for the pax, saw 3 big bear approaching with big luggages. 2 bear standing like status and only one bear trying to load the luggages, i immediately give him a hand, he just let go his hand and the luggage drop onto the floor. I tried to lift up again but cannot make it, so ask him to help, he grumble and say that since i like to carry that's why he let me do the job. Learn a lesson for that day.

I will politely reply that I am the Driver and not the Porter

and if anyone wants my assistance I will be glady helping PROVIDED they ask nicely and

politely- Don't assume nor expect.

If my passenger is a mother with baby of course I'll help smile.gif

If a small frail lady or above 55 yeras old yes I will help.

If a teenager with many bags yes I'll help.

Female pax with gentlemen in escort I leaved them to be the gentleman.

If they are overwhelm with baggages I will ask if they need a hand.

If we consider why ppl in that area need to wait outside road for taxi, and some have been waiting for an hour then heart pain make a booking. We probably know if we should go there serve them or not.

Possible reasons:
1st, their cars due to some reasons not allowed go into club carpark;
2nd, carpark fee too expensive;
3rd, TU may be a good target to xxxx, haha kidding... if so then need to send them to Woodbridge liao.

Those senior managerial personnel sit inside nice office room must change their brain to think.
Nowadays where got passengers so stupid chop by TU, some anyhow ask do this and do that otherwise make complaint.

IMO, unfair tasks such as FOC send passenger to nearest ATM draw cash + FOC send back to destination, FOC send back left over thingy. Fail to do so, coy question then follow by LTA coffee, go there need to spend half a day without income and vomit out rental. Some pax knows the trick well and may use it to threaten TUs. Black-sheep TUs of course don't care but how about white-sheep ones? All days live under stress and fear, no accident happen is a miracle don't talk about getting peanut income.

ALL THESE WORN OUT POLICY & PROCEDURES MUST BE REVIEW AGAIN.
