MOTORISTS can expect congestion at roads near seven Chinese cemeteries and columbarium complexes from March 21 to April 19. Roads which are likely to be affected during the Qing Ming festival observation are:
Choa Chu Kang Road; Jalan Bahar/ Lim Chu Kang Road; Lornie Road/ Sime Road and Kheam Hock Road; Bright Hill Drive/ Sin Min Drive/ Sin Min Avenue; Bishan Street 21/ Raffles Institution Lane; Yishun Ring Road; Mandai Road; and Upper Aljunied Road/Mount Vernon. The annual festival marks the period when families care for and clean the graves of their dead relatives and friends.
Arrangements have been made to ease traffic flow on weekends and public holidays during the month-long event.
