According to STOMPer shao.ken90, this TransCab driver deliberately drove slowly so that the cab fare would cost more.

In an email to STOMP today (Mar 24), the STOMPer wrote:

¡°I boarded the TransCab taxi from the bus stop in front of Clementi West Street 2 wet market.

¡°The time and date is on the receipt. The taxi number is SHD 148 S.

¡°My destination is at Hong Leong Gardens along, West Coast Drive.

¡°Throughout the whole journey, the taxi driver was driving at the speed of 20 to 40 km/h.

¡°At times, I could see the light ¡®hired¡¯ blinking.

¡°Usually when I take the cab, the fare is about $3.40 or $3.60, even factoring the cost for waiting at traffic lights.

¡°I think he did it on purpose as he knew that this will increase the fare.¡±

Woah... nearly fell off my chair laughing while reading this.
I wonder what's the age of this stomper?
E-mailing to Stomp for a non-issue like this.
I suggest next time it will be better if he were to just walk home.
Or better still, get Mama to come and fetch u so that u won't feel cheated.

Correct me if i am wrong. taxi meter charges for distance and STOP TIME at traffic light or jam???

NOT for DRIVING TIME???

The slower the journey without stopping, cabbies loses time to carry another pax. Lowering his takings for the day.

Simple calculation,start your Taxi metre and stay at the same spot for 60 mins.Est. fare is about $25-$27 for peak hour charges.If i can make 3 to 5 connecting trip in 60 mins,i will get at least $30-$40.The best is on my lucky day,usually in once in a blue moon:( If i got got current booking job from Jurong West to Changi Airport,i will get at least $40 up for a 45 mins trip to Changi Airport.How fast i drive also depends on the traffic condition,it don"t make sense to me to step hard on my accelerator if i see a on coming red light ahead.Got one really bad experience with a lady pax,complain that i am driving slow when the traffic condition doesn"t allow me to be fast.I "loon" for the that time,if this does happen again;i will either call her to call a ambulance(amblulance faster mah!) or i will drive her back to the place where she board my cab,without charging her a single cents.No point i continue the journey and take this kind of nuisance from the pax and make myself unhappy the whole day.¡°³¤Í´²»Èç¶ÌÍ´¡±

I always tell my pax to wear their seat belts and drive fast!! And if pax comprain I tell them to take a bus.
But if they are pregnant women, got babies in their arms, old ladies or handicap people then I drive very carefully. No jerky take-off or stopping. no swerving turns and play soothing music on the CD.
I think I deserve a "tip" at the end of the trip.

Today took advance booking/peak hour/cbd UOB centre to Airport ...lady excited declare that she late for her flight can drive fast..I tell her to fasten seat belt and bring out wallet to pay TP if get caught. If not pay me extra for using more fuel. collect extra But Fxxk forget to log in CBD $3/-.. ...Stupig Newbie me...disbelief.gif
