Last Monday the 23rd of March, as ususal I started my night shift relief driving at about
5pm. I headed towards Cairnhill coz ERP = 50cts only. I intended to queue at Cold Storage
Centrepoint. Nearing the destination I felt an uneasy feeeling and the environment didn't
seem right. I avoided the bus lane and true enough I discovered a warden in his uniform
with 3 pips on his shoulders. He was happily taking pictures with his digital camera.
I pitied those behind me who went into the bus lane- both taxis and pte vehicles.
The warden was having a field day and he wore a big smile on his ugly face. I went ahead to
queue at the taxi stand and my position was 5th. 2 mins later the same warden walked over to
the queue and rapped on my window.
" Sir , you are number 5 in queue. 4 5 6 please move on. The taxi stand only allows 3 taxis"
he said and pointed to the sign. Well he was merciful and didn't fine taxis 4, 5, 6 ,
so LL I disappeared from the scene and headed towards Plaza Singapura.
The next day 24 th March 2009 at 6pm, same location. This time the happy warden was
all ready to work -- taking more pictures and he borught along two more wardens to
help out.
Helplessly like many other taxiuncles I too avoided the area giving up the chance to queue.
Anyone out there saw the same incident as me???
I hereby declare that area a disaster area for taxiuncles from 5pm -8pm
DRIVE CAREFULLY !!! I am very sure tonight or even this evening they will be there again.
By the way, this may be a consolation. I saw a silver cab uncle taking pictures of the motorbikes belonging to the traffic wardens, parked anyhow along double yellow lines. I think he may counter complain to LTA- does'nt mean you're on duty can anyhow park your vehicle right?

Another dangerous zone is Explanade, image attached circle in red. If your taxi tail close to the Raffles Ave then you better go otherwise fine or you'll be luckily fxxx out.
Isn't there a Taxi Stand just before the bus stop ??
NO. bro, there ain't any official taxi-stand there. be careful when u try to pick up pax there, look around and check for snipers 1st. Cheers and GOOD LUCK. .
