Should he(my neighbour son) resign working as a chauffer drawing basic $1500/mth w. cpf & 7 dys annual leave (working hrs 8.00 am to 6.00pm,5 dys work) to join as a taxi driver.

he is completely confused w various version of taxis driving.
some say earn $2000/mth easily.

can seniors pls give some honest answers for him.

I would suggest he keep his job for a steady income and drive part-time for extra income.

agrees,
fixed job, fixed pay is important for house man.
taxi can earn, BUT, not every day same ok.
one day earn $150 nett, the next day only $50.
then circle line mrt out, might kena hit bad bad, earn 30...

up to your friend lah, if he no more loan to pay, its ok to be a cabby :)

Since your fren only work 5 days a week, he can be part time driving on weekend only.
Driving weekend only should get enough extra to help cover his expenditure.
After driving for sometime, he will be able to make decision on his own whether to go full time or not.
At the age of 55 turning to driving cab full-time with demand to bring certain amount home can be a little too stressful for him and his health will be at stake.
Driving part time is definitely a better option for him.

as a chaufferr, i think life should is easier

as most of the time, when the boss is busy in meeting, you get to rest
but not as a cabby

when you work on your own, your hand stop, your mouth also stop eating.

so i 2nd those bro suggestion, do a part time first.

good luck!!

I think he can't make it.
First of all, no courage to post here by himself and need neighbour uncle to ask... so indirect.
Driving taxi is human engineering, require guts, courage, patience, discipline and real needs... short of one won't work.
I am so sorry to say, money always on the road, whoever got guts can take, dun shy shy.

I think it is the attitude that matters some people just like to lead a routine life hence i don't think he got the passion to be TD. I did not realise the pain and agony until i tried. I believe he is contended with his current job if not long time already jumped boat.
TD is like doing your own business with risk attached some make it and just scrap through whereas some fallout along the way. He's already half a century old and
should know what best for him.

Bro saferider, a cheuffer putting in 10hrs is not the same as a cabbie plying 10hrs on the road hor....
Your friend grumble, unhappy, money not enough, etc...
Just tell him to try out for a few months 1st as a TD then you listen to what he say, i guarantee you he confirm sing a different tune.
