Man rescued from overturned trailer along Lower Delta Road

An accident involving a trailer occured at Lower Delta Road this afternoon (28 April).

According to the SCDF, the trailer had skidded along the road and had overturned to the side.

In an e-mail sent to STOMP today, the SCDF said:

"At 3.30 pm, SCDF was alerted to the accident.

"Upon arrival, SCDF found a Chinese male trapped in the driver's seat of the trailer. He was alert and conscious upon SCDF’s arrival.

"The casualty was pinned from his knee downwards by the dashboard and the steering wheel of the vehicle.

"SCDF used two hydraulic spreaders to free the casualty from the wreckage.

"He suffered minor cuts on the forehead and bruises on the leg. He was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital for treatment."

there have been so many cases of trailers over-turning in the past few months. what i would like to know is what actions the traffic police have taken against all the drivers of those incidents. the most probable cause of those accidents is speeding.the traffic police should publicize the penalties meted out to those drivers so that trailer and truck drivers will know that there are further consequences if they cause an accident.

Lorry speeding on West Coast Rd with half a door missing

Seeing this lorry on West Coast Road with only half a door, STOMPer Riz was appalled and feels it is an extreme road hazard. Says Riz:

"Check out this lorry without the right door.

"A big trailer's right door was not fitted and was sighted travelling along West Coast Road at high speed.

"How come LTA allowed this to happen?"

Accident is undesirable or unfortunate happening that occurs unintentionally, who wants this happened? Glad to know that the driver is ok.
