This is really a wake up call for me, last nite picked up one couple at bedok, couple
look ok and well educated. But never expected that the night event will forever
embedded in my mind. Drop the girl at kew drive and continue the trip to STPB behind Tanglin Mall. Upon reaching he passed me the credit card, i was dumbfounded because all along if pax say credit card or EZ link i will not picked them.

I was told by hirer that the m/c was not working and me myself also never bother to learn how to use it. I gently told him that the m/c is not working and asked why he never bother to ask when i picked him, he pointed to the window sticker with the visa logo. I asked him to pay by other means...or whatever amount he have inside his pocket, he keep on saying no, just insisted to use the visa card. Me wanted to send him to the nearest petrol kiosk to draw money but he stick to his stand. I'm having a bad throat and the more i speak i started to cough more, after all the auging i gave up and said nevermind very unwillingly, he took the receipt and just closed the door and walked off.

Me was fumming mad but what to do...time already 12.20am. Glad to pick another two pax and get back another $16 before i call it a day.

Last night did not sleep well and still cannot get over this incident. God must have eye, this morning pick one girl from lucky plaza to bedok south ave 2, along the way i was thinking if i don't do anything to the above incident the pain will be forever with me. It's like a bitter pill got stuck inside my throat. OK, I make up my mind upon dropping the girl, me pick up the courage and topo back to kew drive where the girl staying.

Press the door bell, girl's mother came out and i told her about the incident and i'm there to collect the fare of her daughter...$7. Daughter came out to verify and she recognised me, i told her infront of her motherher hypocrite boyfriend behaviour and not paying the fare. Mother and daughter also agreed that whatever reason, the fare must be paid. Daughter passed me $19, i took only $7 and returned her the rest even though she kept on asking me to keep. I told her it's notfair for her to bear the cost of the boy friend and i will just take it as an unfortunate wasted trip for meeting a cheater. I told her i'm there to redeem myself and exposed the incident to them. My last parting word for them were.... it's not the money that counts it is the dignity and principle that matters. And walk toward my cab and drove off.It's like a load taken out from my body.

yes, take back what is yours.

but personally, i think u should learn to use the nets machine.
there is no excuse for not using the machine if it is provided.
if this incident goes to the coy, you may hv to bear full responsibilty cos of ur
inability to operate the machine. on the other hand, there isn't a rule for the pax
to inform you in advance of his payment mode.

anyway, whatever it is, just dont get fire back.

ok, my point is, even if is CC machine,
i think he should also learn to operate it.
unless you can remove the machine n the decal from your car.
if not, you cant be possible eliminate this problem from happening again. smile

According to hirer, the credit card m/c is not working, anyway i will bringthe manual along, if next time got this type of pax i will take my time to do the transaction...if it's working.

If that bugger complain to coy and if i kena, i will tow my two kids to kew drive and "cow peh cow bu" to the future mother in-law. That guy is way out to take advantage of the weakness of taxis driver. If he's sincere he will try to find a way to pay me. He never bother to dig into his pocket to see how much he had , i already go to the extend of accepting what is left inside his pocket. Somemore he also can borrow from the security guy or his co-worker...he just can't be bother and taking advantage of the situation, still took the receipt and likely to claim the amount from STPB. My worst encounter.

pax perception nowadays is cashless as & when they feel like it...in your case if it's not working...henceforth better to ask when you click the fare meter "will you be paying cash as my machine is not working?" if negative then say sorie take another cab...this will not spoil your day or days

if your machine is ok...better learn to operate as that wont be the last of such paxs.

my trick on sat or sun if pax wan to cashless...i said " miss/mr 2day is weekend i only get my cash after monday...i need the cash to pay my rental"... 80% will feel sorie & take steps to pay cash hahabiggrin

anyway bro Regit...tis is part of our occupational hazards...dun take too hard & sleepless over it hor...365 days is alot of days lolconfuse

bro regit.i am glad u did a great job and stand firm to what you hv expected.reasoned out sometimes do works but it depends on the other party.but what you did was totally right.fight back yr rights and place out the principle facts as a cab driver. thumbs up for u bro regit.

as for the machine.i still think u better get it figure out for future conflicts with pax. hope you get good paz coming yr way instead of this kuku guy and still hv the guts to take reciept.

I hope that cheapo is not a saff of STPB. These are the ppl who are supposed to promote Singapore.
How can we have such a cheat working at STPB?
Maybe bro regit can go to STPB to KPKB.

Today on mc...so can talk-clock here...That guy is staff of STPB, thanks for all the encouragement and useful tips, i myself also at fault but never expected to have such an outcome. I do have many times fetch pax to ATM to draw $ and discounted the taxis fare for them.
There was one day me stucked at choa chu kang and i hatred to be there. Got one pax hop in and later say not enogh money, can used EZ link, me asked going where. He say S poly, i say never mind pay how much u have me just want to get out of CCK. He say got $6, me say ok. Reached near Poly stop- overat mrt, fare was $13 ... he asked me to use the KJE which seem to be longer. Me say $6, he asked me to wait and went inside the mrt to draw money, later passed me $15 and say no need change, me paisah, thanks him and took only $13 and continue to bring him to the Poly foc. So still got nice pax around.

That guy is a wolf covered with sheep outfit, when his girl friend is around he behavoiur like a tame sheep and turn into a wolf after dropping his girl friend.
that's why always never judge abook by its cover...the true can be very ugly. Me a reasonable guy but if push to the corner i will react back. Maybe he got the perception that Taxis driver are low educated and only know how to drive and pick fare.
