Pick up wrong pax, what shd I do??

Hey folks,

I got a Auto Booking @ Robertson Walk ard 9pm last Fri.
As usual, long pax Q there, start to scan for pax waving to me once I turn in.
To my delight, a gentleman pulling a luggage wave to me!
haha good timing to go Airport sia! I thought...
I get dwn the cab to help him with the luggage, n ask him did he call for cab.
he ans 'YA I CALL YOU'.

But when I was moving out, a lady who dress like a waitress waved to me.
I did not bother her n carry on. Got a feeling wrong pax in my cab, but no choice, cant possible to ask the passenger out rite?

Then I ask the pax in my cab did he get the taxi number from the call, he say yes, not very sure, think its 6305.
!!!!!ohmygod.gif my num is 6345!!!

So old birdies...
pls adv me as i am juz a 2mths old rookie.disbelief
1) Am i in the wrong?
2) Shall I stop n ask the pax in my cab to get out if that waitress is my caller for her customer?
3) Will I be penalise by coy if that caller complain?
4) Its a auto booking, no names, hw I noe M/F at least?

Thks bros...

Hi, I'm still green not qualify to tell other what to do.

This is what I know...
if pick wrong pax n the intended pax call control . Control will call you..."hello Mr... you had pick the wrong Pax".
I will say sorry n continue. Control will do the rest.

Usually about to reach pickup point I will send msg to pax.
Sometime a few pax will come to u n say they book the cab. Will pick the one dat rec'd the msg.
(Always happen at S'goon Plaza/Mustaffa)
I will not press "noshow" if pax missing. Pick anyone willing to pay the booking charges n go.

Once.. pax name is Japanese but African pax appear. pickup point is private estate ...no problem.
Some people book for their foreign guest.

For me if auto booking not by h/p . Wonderful! will ask their destination. If happy pick n go. not my fault!

it happens...
for me i'll ask (usually... if there's many pax waiting around)

kena one incident. booking @ changi ferry terminal on a sunday afternoon.
went in saw only a couple waiting, must be them lah, stop infront of them but they no reaction except looking at my direction only. waited 2-3 mins, get off and went toilet. came back just nice 5 mins liao. press 'no show', and move off.

making a u-turn and the couple move towards me, ask me can take them or not... initially damn tulan liao (cuz at first i think it must be them, plus wasting my 5mins + travell time)
but think here is no man island, lan lan take lor (happy to heard they gg jurong)

when i reach the outside junction, saw 3 thambi waving at my cab...

I realise liao, the thambi book cab, only landmark is CFT, so they tell control lor (didn't tell control its the junction outside, must be)

I knew i pick the wrong pax... but not totally my fault

IMO, taking booking must honor the job as we expect same thing from the other side. Nobody want aeroplaned.

May be later on came out a thread "Taxi Driver: Hall of shame" then die lar

agree with bro bridgestone...to honour means paxs will continue to have faith to make another booking from the coy...to abandon pax means he'll book another coy next timehmm

Pax book cab by mobile, call them to confirm.
Pax book cab by line phone, whoever hop in, ask them if they've made the booking before you start your meter.
Pax no-show, drive off w/o picking anyone.
Pick the wrong pax - there's no wrong pax as long the current pax on board paying booking charges, it's too hard to identify the "correct" pax when you got many hands waving at you.

One other suggestion is to call Ops to swop with other driver.

yes, agreed we must honour the booking. But it must be two-ways.
But what if pax play dirty n use all sorts of trick on us. Had too much of bad experience.

sometime call them also no respone ...How to verify ?. Oncall sign off then appear.

For me if time up ...just pick n go. If pax run to me I press "no show" n tell pax timeup call already cancelled. Happy to pick another pax even from same spot.

Happened in Sentosa few months ago.

after dropping of pax at Treasure Resort. "Tink" Beach Station TS.
Surprising only Pax name(ang moh) but no telephone number. Accept lah press 5 mins.
Sure kena aeroplane this time. Why call centre accept call w/o phone number?
But neber mind since about 100m away n can reach in about 10 sec.
If Kena aeroplaned ...timeup. ...just pick any pax willing to pay call charges and go. Nothing to lose.

Reach there in 10 sec. Park in front of toilet about 3 cars length behind TS .Good time to go toilet. Out of toilet... pax did not appear.
Never mind give pax the benefit of the doubt. (control will tell pax 5-7 mins.)

Time up! still no pax show up. TS more than 10 pax watching my cab all this while.
Press "callout" see what happened. Immediate respone, "callout unsuccessful". Sure lah no number how to call. (Maybe control will think kuku taxi driver no phone number still want to press "callout")

Was about to move forward n pick any pax willing to pay call charges.

Saw 3 Ang moh coming out of 7eleven toward my cab.

Yes, they are the pax who called.
3 Germans tourist who speak English I find difficult to understand. So did not ask how they manage to book cab w/o phone number. Or maybe control catch no ball their English.

Maybe they could have use public phone to book. Can book taxi by public phone ??
