Chrysler cab fare from airport to Jurong costs $70!

Richard and his friends recently boarded a Chrysler cab from the airport to Jurong at midnight, but was shocked that the fare went up to a costly $70.

Says this STOMPer:

"Recently my friends and I took a cab from the airport to Jurong which costs us about $70.

"It was midnight, so we understood that there would be a 50% increase.

"A check with SMRT stated that the black Chrysler cab would cost more.

"Why was the public unaware of the price increase in taxi fare.

"Shouldn't all taxi fares be standard.

"Even the Merc cab is cheaper, why must a Chrysler be more expensive.

"A Chrysler isn't more luxurious than Merc cab, at least I doubt so.

"Does LTA approve of the price increase. $5 was the starting fare, and the fare jumped 30 cents for every 200 metres travelled, instead of $3.20 starting fare for a normal cab, and a 20 cents jump per 200 metres.

"I hope to inform the public so as to avoid paying more for a taxi fare."

To the Stomper, i ask: Does a same set of meal cost the same in all restaurants?
Same meal costs differently at different locations. Same as for taxis, same distance
costs different when travelled in different make/model of taxi.
As for comfort and luxury, just for argument's sake, i can oso claim that i feel
more comfortable at a neighbourhood kopishop than a 6-star hotel restaurant.

This Stomper muz have been living in a well for too long liao.
Wake up! Get out, see the world before complaining about everything that hits ur pocket.
If cannot afford to spend, stay at home, watch TV, then go fark ur wife.

Some pax are pure innocense, they thot all cab are the same. Only end of the trip when come to payment than KpKb. Anyway it's an expensive lesson for them and learn not to take thing for granted. I do encountered pax complaining to me about taking Chrysler and not knowing the charges.

sit inside a chysler or rr to many ppl could be a dream never come. Better save money wait for the RR silver shadow cab on the road.

I believe many pax doesn't know much about Chysler cab. Many thought same as Merc.
After experiencing it,at least they can tell their friend ..."I have experience a Chysler cab___ __ ___ ___...(fill in the blank...)

I have seen them Q..ing at taxi stand n AP.
