A Bad Sunday

Tot I had found a hirer and can drive evry wkend.. alas....

Was driving from 4pm till around 3am on Sunday. Vry shack and decided to park at my carpark. Got a call frm my hirer around 6am asking why haven't I sent back his veh. I explained to him that I wanted to top out but was too tired and had wanted to do it first thing early in the morning at Sin Ming as I tot he wasn't driving.

Know what, he started cow bey and the worse part got comfort to call me and later his wife also call.

WTF, I told comfort and his wife off. Returned his veh and paid him and off I go as he wanted to stop our partnership. Wat pissed me off is that for a start he was saying i can drove back but told back his words after I neg for $45/- as initially was $51.

Then after I took his veh and drive found the car is not in alignment, kept giving a funny sound. I was told his veh is 3yrs + to 4 yrs.

Next he ask me to pay him $25/- for his diesel but if based on $0.08 shld be around only $23/-.

All this F** experience started from my frd, then an uncle and now this old man. Seem for 1 to find a gd hirer not easy feat too.disbeliefcry

Hi bro, sad to hear it happened on you....

We all know RELIEF IS KING, but being a relief payment must prompt, and, handover must be punctual, and, topup honestly, also tidy up the veh as much as we can. Otherwise got Zap!

If we perform well, no worry no cab to drive... RELIEF IS KING!!!
When I meet cheapo hirer... eat my time... cheat my dissel.... I sure fire him.... RELIEF IS KING!!!

By the way, Comfort dissel is $0.088/L and therefor should be $25 not $23.

Sundays are usually relax driving, pax scattered everywhere and TDs dun usually snactch pax, along the road pax line up for ya to pick biggrin

If you notice TDs usually read news paper while waiting a the junction ortaxi stands, carefree sort of driving ...no rush

But sorryto hearyou had a bad sunday

The 3 things most important for a hirer - relief relationship isas follows:

1. Handover must be puntual - imagine if handover timing is 6am, you go down cannot find veh, sure frustrated one ... (so always target to rtn 15mins b4 handover timing)
2. Diesel must top up full or according to how it should be top up - crown is easy to go full, but for sonata some count by milage or pump until click plus S$2 ,consider full (actually if you can wait 15 minutes it can pump S$8.00 , I've tried it biggrin)
3. Rental must be zhun - if youcan't pay up today , you dundrive tomolo ,debt accumulate very fast one ... )

Other minor things to note, if no need washing, at least clear away the sand on the floor mat and and clean the front mirror. SMS the location of the veh if park at the multi storey carpark, early morning can't find veh very frustrated one ...

If you adhere to the above suggestions, your hirer - relief relationship will go a long way ... Good Luck !

PS : Too bad you dun stay in woodlands, cos up here, a lot of hirer looking for weekend reliefs

Becos initially agreed to pay him $51 and I can drive back but then since I'm not driving the full shift of cos can't expect to pay him that much. Somemore his veh not in gd condition but found out only after driving.

No consolation for you , it's not his fault . He expected u to be responsible .

And u are not into the rhythm of a night driver yet i think ....

We 3am finish work die die dragged our body to wash , top-up and handover ... even so how tired we were , i die die handover on time , like that no disputes .

Hi bro, I heard from the STC member that you're living in Sengkang area, if you're thinking of not to carry on with thecurrent hirer, pls let me know as I'm looking for one more relief driver to drive in the day, PM me if you're interesting.
BTW I'm driving a red engine deposit is $1500.

Yes man, I agree.
If you too tired, then finished earlier, save some energy to wash, clean and top up. And very important to hand over on time.

Hirer and relief, if $2 or $3 also so calculative, difficult lah !

Go on the road, make money from the passengers and not try to
squeeze a few dollars from each other.

I do night relief 6 days a week for the same hirer 9 years already.
Never had problem. He knows my bad habits and I know his pattern.
Tolerate!

Bro chevy88, hope u hv cooled down now.

Donsan has voiced out the key point - go and make money from pax on the road.

I am driving as relief for 2 hirers, so far not encountered any problem at all. I know their pattern well, one must be absolutely hand over on time cos he will be waiting sharp in front of car park, another hierer is flexi time as long as I sms him few mins before hand over stating I'll be late .... he will stay home lim kopi/continue his sleep waiting for my call. How it works?

For this flexi hirer, my shift 5pm to 5am so if any job finished after 05:01 I shall honestly share 50% with him. It happened few weeks ago, a Saturday started from 03:00 bcos of marathon in pandan, entire island everywhere got pax going to padan.... I drove back and forth non stop from city->woodlands, woodlands->pandan, city->changi north, pandan..... until morning 7am..... I gave him 50% of my collection during 5-7am: $58. He always more than happy to see I am late.

What is the pattern of the other gan chiong king hirer? He always gan chiong $, always chiong otr, no time to sleep... so never wash his car b4 handover. Everytime when my hands are on the sterling, aiyo so oily, windscreen & mirrors everywhere oil stain..... I didn't make any noise just wash clean b4 I hand over every shift. Sometimes if I am good luck got last minute pax and no time to wash car, I always leave him extra $4, paiseh lar, no time wash car liao... please wash @ Esso when you need to have a break... :)

Actually my intention is to wake up early and top-up at Sin Ming then wash and hand over. I assume he is not driving on wkends. I've no intention to pull a fast one on him. Just am pissed that he so gan chiong call and ask comfort to call me follow by his wife. Really boils man.

Gd for you man. Hope I can find one more reasonable hirer. So more this hirer call me up first not that I so hard up for it.

Thanks.
