Few months ago, I lightly bump into a car in a carpark. My passenger alighted and verified both cars without damages. The young couple at the front also alighted claimed that they will bring his car to his own workshop and make the necessary repair if damage is done. I took afew pictures on the scene and offered the couple to my workshop to repair if damages is done. He declined my offer and exchange particulars instead. The following day I file an accident report to Comfort. However the staff took pictures of my cab but refused to download my photos which I have taken from the scene. I suspected something is wrong with the investigation officer. About a month later Comfort start to bill me 1K to replace the deposit I made. Recently received a letter from India Insurance with an attached copy of damages from the claimant's lawyer. The cost of damages stipulated is as follow:
1. Excess.................................$642.00 2. Loss of Use (8 days)............$480.00 3. GIA Report...........................$ 29.00 4. Costs...................................$500.00 Total........................................ $1,651.00
However the details of the above was not copied to me for reference. India Insurance kept the original from their lawyer. Even if there is damages to their bumper, loss of usage for 8 days is rediculous. Any comrades encounter such bad experiences. Pls kindly advise, how to seek redress on this issue?
I just don't understand, how could an educated young couple can be so ruthless? They had clearly inflated the damages for monetary gain. Besides India Insurance failed to obtain the photos I had taken and they also failed to call for my witness to verify the damages. My report also stated clearly of my (passenger) witness contact detail and the full extend of the incident without damages.I guess I will press criminal charges against them if I find them guilty with evidence.
No, I am certain they are not from India Insurance. Made a payment to check with LTA and their insurance company is AXA Insurance. Apparently I did reported to Staff in Comfort Office in Loyang. There were no damages on both sides, he photograph only my cab and indicated no damage found but refuse to accept my photograph taken at the scene, and made statement that 'I am at fault as long as I knock the other party at his rear car'. I reiteriated that I maybe at fault, but no damages is clearly visible andnoted in the report that I did offered the other party to my workshop for verification, but denied. The Staff ignore my plea and continue his usual proceed.

I believe you are covered by 3rd party insurance. The lawyer letter just to "try luck" see who will settle it. You should check with your own insurance co see what they say.
Guess you guys misunderstood me. Hislawer billed India Insurance, and India Insurance attached their doc for my reference only. India Insurance already confirm payment to them.
this type of practises hv been going on for years and it resulted to the present stage with highly inflated insurance premium. it has been discussed in the media many times.
recently, there was a reported case whichclaim was also inflated. the victim took the case to the court. since u hv the photos, it could serve as evidence of the damages. i suggest you lodge a police report n it could be deemed as cheating case.or,bring your case to the magistrate. the judgewill authorise the police to do investigation.
like i said, if u hv the photos,your chance of winning is very high.
recently (during F-1) i bang onto a yellow top cab as he cut into my lane and made a illegel U turn ,,, the front of my cab got some damages ,, not beri bad,,, its should be able to repairwithin 1 - 2 days time ,,, if U pay it !!! But U know what ?! ,,, it take Loyang 7 days to return me my A380 !! U may want to ask why ?!?!?! BECAUSE = = = i got a witness for the accident !!! so,,,, me lor
This is why i said the insurance coy and the lawyers ripping us off. Workshop cannot release the taxi without the green light from insurance coy, so who's fault?

the BEST part is,,, a day after I filed my acc report ,, a lady phone me when I am Thai-gal-ing ,,, " Sir , do U injured / feel unwell arising from the acc ?" I said NO !, why ? " NVM,,, some driver may feel unwell few days AFTER the acc !! ,, just giveme a call, & I will provide FREE transport & FREE medical fee to proof that U are unwellbecause of this acc ,,, and the MOST importance thing is,,,, U can claim up to $2,000 in total !!!! " hahahahaahaha... so ,, u know why the cost of Car insurance keep going up every yrs !!
next time... DO NOT REPORT!!! as long as u never report... the other party cannot do anything... they cannot claim! only can do a hit&run report... and the police will only post you a letter to ask u if this accident happen... just call them back and say never happen... then case close...
if other party gottake photo... then say that they ask you to go... since no damage... so nothing will happen to you too... but keep the photo with u just in case...

Bro..I kenna one early this year for this.. no damages on my ride and the other cab.. agreed that we dun report and forget the whole thing.. the next thing i know, CDG called me 1.5 months after the incident and ask if I had this incident on this date/time/location with this taxi and the other party claiming..
KNN... no damages I kenna hit with 1K "summon"... dun report doesn't mean bo dai ji leh...
