Many TDs told me that you are able to drove a gross of 200plus every night from 6pm till 1am. But me always reach 160 and always below 180. I don't go for break during driving....Will this be better during end of the year?...I am a new part time TD.....
My case is about the same as you, it is about 150 gross average for that duration.
Few factors to consider....
Road experience-knows which lane goes faster, off roads to avoid traffic jam. Knowledge of good spots Inside info - eg. Walkie-talkie gang Judgement/Decision - eg. which call bookings to accept/reject. Strategy - eg. if raining, street hails would drop, so gotta depend on booking or go sheltered areas to look for pax, sometimes rare pax with umbrellas would flag u. Most importantly = LUCK! (It is not define as long trip or short trip, its about the continuity)
The faster u drop a pax, the faster u can connect a new pax.
Almost drive for 40 days, i am new too. But i supposed it is going to be better. But there are too many taxi around....Each time at a junction, u see 3 taxi on left, 4 taxi on right, all empty....u know there is nothing left for u to eat along this road....gotta change strategy....
Was queueing at one of the shopping mall, was 2nd in the queue, a taxi infront me. When a pax with 2 Trolleys came out, he drove off right away(That was his strategy). I took the pax and it takes 5-10mins to load up everything, when reached her destination, it was a kindergarten school, with the help of several other teachers, unloading time is about 2-3mins. And it was just a short distance trip. So logically thinking, it wouldnt be worth the time if u spend too much time just to earn less than $5 trip. Although I dont approve his doing, but that is the way he run his own business.

6pm is not a good timing. you're already 1 hr late for the peak hr. you should start at 5pm to make the extra $$$$$.

When u go toilet sometimes will see a mini poster "Your Attitude defines your Altitude". I am not a warrior type, always join Q whenever I feel tired. My hourly intake can be as low as $5 but few friends claim that they consistently achieving more than $35/hr throughout 11 hours on weekdays and Fri Sat more than $45!!
They are mighty warriors, they don't need drink & food, never stop, never tired, never join Q.... they will find whatever possible chance to CUT Q, their face skin is thicker than an inch, you'll not surprise if you see them in Clark Quay around 1am, they always > 120km on expressway, cut lane from L1 to L4 within 50m. Can you do that? If not 6 hours $160 ~ $180 is already excellent!!!

Bro Man, try a few ways or strategy, to survive in this trade is not how much u can make tonite, or this week, thismonth, nor this year. It's about how fast you can adapt to changes. There are pax to pick at this spot today, doesn't mean the pax will be there waiting for you tomolo. Work out the options you have when you on the road, the more the better, as time goes by, you'll know which option to take base on different time, day, weather. Do your best, don't compare to what others getting. Do it right is more important than anything else. Good luck my fren.
