SINGAPORE - Singaporeans looking to get spooked this Halloween can visit Fright Night at the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) this Saturday.

This year, the experience starts with a dance and theatre item centred around Asian myths of the afterlife and the rituals associated with hell and purgatory.

Upon entering the galleries, participants can look out for roving bomohs (witch doctors) with spine-tingling stories about museum exhibits to share.

Through a supernatural gallery, attendants will learn of Tibetan rituals, human sacrifice in Southeast Asia, and the guards of hell from Chinese mythology.

Fright Night will also introduce the audience to supernatural beings from Southeast Asian folklore with the help of Singapore Paranormal Investigators (SPI),

which is also showcasing equipment its investigators use on their paranormal adventures.

In addition to these activities, ACM is also showcasing MJ12: Kronik,a series of short horror films in Malay with English subtitles.

Based on Ria 89.7FM's popular horror story segment Misteri Jam 12, MJ12: Kronik features ghostly encounters shared by listeners.

Other activities include face painting and wayang kulit (shadow puppet) making for children.

Attendees who turn up in costume will also stand the chance of winning movie tickets.

The ACM Fright Night will be held on October 27, from 5pm to 1am the next day.
