STOMPer Andrew was surprised to see a traditional dance performance that originated from Taiwan performed in Singapore.

The STOMPer said:

"My friend sent me this photo of this Taiwanese folk art.

"Quite surprised to see that Singaporeans brought in Taiwan traditional dance (Ba Jia Jiang)!"

The dance is called °Ë ¼Ò (Ba Jia Jiang), or Eight Generals in Chinese. It is a folk dance that originated in Taiwan and is usually performed at temple festivals.

According to online sources, the eight generals' job is to capture and punish evil spirits met along the way and collect grievances from passing spirits.
