I have had my misfortune of encountering a very bad attitude taxi driver today and it has left myself still unsettled.
I am a taxi driver myself (with cdg) and what happened earlier this morning about 2am during my shift, i picked up 3 passengers whom were going to mustafa. on the way there i drove along jalan besar, just opposite the food centre. then suddenly an SMRT taxi (chevy epica) suddenly came into my lane (because he saw a passenger on my side of the road). I immediately pressed my horn in act to warn him I was just beside him. Even my passengers got a fright.
then when I continued driving along jalan besar, the driver came up to beside me and scolded me and asked me whats my problem and started scolding vulgarities. I told him he is in the wrong and almost caused an accident and still can scold others?. he then challenged me to stop at the side of the road to settle. I told him, I got passenger in my car and I am not going to stop my car halfway fetching a passenger, and then drove off. He then never give up, keep coming beside my taxi, even partially blocking me and challenging me and continuing scolding vulgarities and shaming himself with his unprofessionalism in front of the passengers. Then my passenger had to say sorry to him and ask him get out of our face. My passenger then told me in disgust that its the smrt drivers fault.
at the moment, i just wanted him to F off and stop irritating me as all that was in my mind was to drive and earn $ and stop wasting time, but that ass keeps coming beside me, hog the lane just to keep challenging me to go down and settle and keep saying "you want to kuai lan right?! come down settle!". after my passenger apologised to him (which i know its because he just wants him to F off and not because he was right), he then gave up and drove off. its really a disgrace to himself as a taxi driver, SMRT and to the taxi community, especially in front of a passenger.
at the end of the whole episode, i was still thinking, I was just doing a natural reaction of horning and warn him as he was swerving in to my lane and cause danger. How the hell did he managed to think i was trying to be kuai lan with him? is he mentally unsound?
I made a mistake of not taking down his plate number because I really buay gam wan wana report him to SMRT and police. If I have a strong case eg, my passenger as witness etc, I might even engage a lawyer to sue him.
I know its an almost impossible outcome but im just trying my luck, if anybody who heard of this incident or know who may be the driver, please PM me. because I wana bring this guy down with all my ability as he needs to be taught a lesson.

in my years of driving, taxi or private car, i met countless of these people. they are just a bunch of rats that only can pretend to be smart by verbally bullying those that are less aggressive like you. don't be bothered about these people, you wouldn't probably met him again. and don't even bother to waste time to sue him becos there isn't a crime in the first place. even if you make a magistrate complain, they would only arrange mediation for you two and it means u have to meet him more often and both will make less money.
my advice is, install a in-car cam to safe guard yourself from these type of drivers.
forget about the incident and move on, your time and family should worth more than that jerk! :)
