Palringo channel

The channel is an offshoot of this forum to provide mutual help & sharing of info.

To join, you MUST be a practising taxi driver.

Getting started:

1) Download palringo app.

2) Search & join group: www.taxiuncle.com

3) Upon logging in, introduce yourself when greeted.

Admins may require simple proof of cabby's status.

4) Contact any Admins for help.

Rules & regulations:

1) English as language of communication.

2) As messages are streamed to EVERY member, irrelevant talk & personal chit chat

MUST be kept to minimum esp during peak hrs. Vulgarities, racial n religious slurs not tolerated.

3) As the channel depends solely on members' contributions to remain viable, all are

expected to maintain an active presence by providing info. Removal of phantom

or barely active members is undertaken with full regret.

**************************************

NOTE:Palringo's latest updated version for android does not support auto playback of voice messages. This is very inconvenient.

Members should install backdated version 5.9 available here.

IF you need help, welcome for dinner meetups.

I would like to add few more point to what James has said ,

1) you need a car charger as this app (Palringo) drain out the battery of your phone very fast ,, within 3-4 hrs your hp battery will be flat !!

2) you need a phone holder (windscreen mounted) as hand-held operation of hp is danger to you and your pax !!

Pls get ready the above mentioned before start downloading Palringo .......

3) after you installed Palringo on your hp ,, pls play around with it and try to understand all the basic function like how to log on/off ,,,, how to talk by pressing which button etc,

i tell you, the social circle among the taxi uncles is weak in my opinion. colleagues cut each other on the road for pax, fart each other OTR for small matter and etc. i hope all these can be improved with our social network. we need to work together to make things happen.smile

believe it or not, especially after mid-night, when I see an empty cab in front of me, regardless he/she from which company, I'll just follow behind until we reach a junction, & I'll turn away from his direction.

at times, I was often cut by other drivers to 'snatch' pax from me (80% of the time are from the same company) but I just let it go. There was even once at a taxi stand during late night, the taxi behind me even 'dare' to snatch my pax, when the pax was coming towards me. I just keep quiet.

My idea (many people, including my taxi friends, say I'm stupid & simple minded) is to share such spirit among us fellow drivers. We are taxi drivers, not rivals. We all earn a living from TD, not fighting & quarrel with each others. At petrol kiosk, I offer smiles at other taxi drivers. Sometimes they smile back, sometimes they "diao" me. Well, I still believes that "if you expect people to treat you nicely, you should start the ball rolling".

Like what you said, if we can impose such ideas to 1 person out of the thousands, we are still consider to be 1 step nearer to our target, our dreams. Hope we are live in peace and bring everyone to a better life. It may takes years, or forever, but if no one were to do it, it'll never happen.aww

Hi my fren ,

the Palringo grp is oso for active userbut not those just listen but silent thr' out their shift...

getting the p/w & joined the Palringo grp is just the 2nd step (1st step is you got to be more active here) ,, 3rd step is your performance during the 1st week ,, some new mbr in this forum joined the Palringo grp but got kick out because they remained silent despite the reminders send by the administer urging them to be active failed after 7 days of joining.

We wants to share info with U , But WE wants to share your info too !
