Hi, This Foreigners cutting queue happened to me just 2 days ago at Waterloo Street taxi stand.

After dropping off pax at the temple, I moved forward to the taxi stand (short distance) and as you all know, it is a narrow one way street and so I did not potong-jalan any other taxi.

There were a few pax & a few taxis in front of me. When my turn came, there was a lady there behind the few pax who just left and she seemed to be not looking at me, but talking on her cell phone. Standing next to her (and mind you, they were all not in the queue and anxiously looking for cabs but just hanging around the taxi stand), were 2 younger persons. Not knowing whether she is taking my cab, I was about to move closer to the pick-up point when the 2 younger persons popped into my cab. As I moved forward, the lady on the phone moved out, stretched her hands and block my cab. Then she kicked my bumper. I signaled my doubt by showing open palms, and she moved to my window side, I asked her what she want.

Then she shouted that those 2 persons had cut her queue. Then they said in Chinese (with foreign accent) "huh???!! must queue arrhhh????!!!....I turned around and asked them were they in the queue? They then moved out..........

The funny thing is this lady continues to gesture wildly too and from her accent, I think she is also a foreigner, either a Thai, Vietnamese and some Indo China accent....

She continued to scold me but I kept my cool and asked her whether she wants to take my cab or not....????? Ha! Ha! She LL came in and asked to go to Boon Tiong Road. In the cab I repeated my statement and TOLD HER, excuse me Mdm, I did not see or realized that those 2 cut your queue. I only saw three of you there but you were all NOT in the TAXI STAND but near it. Further more, you were not looking at me but talking on your phone. How am I going to know they were behind you, or you were going to take my taxi???? Ha! Ha! Then she call her husband and started ranting about the episode that she was very TL and fought back to have her cab. (Actually there were a few more cabs who just drive in behind me and lining up).

In the end, she LL and asked me whether I can wait for her to pick someone. I said sorry cannot wait unless it is 5-10 minutes. So she call her husband (I found out later and he sounded like a Pinoy and has a little boy with him) and continued in my cab to Woodlands. Final Fare $24....thank you very much.....

The morale of the story......Not every time a queue cutting takes place is the fault of taxi driver cannot see OPEN. It is purely the driver did not have the insight to what happened. By the way, I am a BLUE/ YELLOW Cab super relief and I see OPEN already...that is why I prefer not to have my own cab.
