Hi Taxi Uncle. New Member on board.

HI friends, I had read some post from this forum. People here really helpful.

My name is Sky. Going for my taxi course soon.

I wish to learn something from you all how to be a taxi driver.

My age now is 48 yr old. Like to drive car. The reason why I wish to be a taxi driver. Is because I don't feel like working as a out-door sales. Sian.

Always face problem like Sales , products, manpowers, boss .... issues. Make us so tried and stress. May be due to my age cannot take it any more.

Any way....

One of my taxi friend suggest to me to be a Taxi driver. But I am worry ... can I pass my course. seen like very hard to pass.

May I know from you friend can give me some advise what to prepare, before my course start on Nov 2013.

Thank You.

Hi Sky, welcome on board ^_^

Do you understand english? (doesn't seems a problem to me as you can type english. lol)
Do you know how to read a street directory? (also should be easy for you as you since you travel outdoor on the road)

If yes to both, be attentive to every lessons. It helps. High chance you can pass. The difficult part is the timing for the exam. (1 hour duration for each module)

Please do not have the impression of "DIFFICULT TO PASS". How can it be easy if you keep thinking it is hard? It is the same as how can you win a war if you think you can't? Relax & enjoy the course. All the best ^_^

Hi SKY,

Passing is not a problem as you can try and try again...just be patient and do your best. Getting the TDVL is just the beginning of a first step.

The toughest part is being a taxi driver itself. To drive and make money, you need to prepare to sacrifice your time for money. During peak hour, it is decent money. But, not every day is Sunny and not every day is Rainy.

Hope you will remember that you have taxi drivers who are in the Palringo group to share and earn more more when times are good or when times are tough. Welcome to join us.

Take care, drive safe and good luck. (Each of these works holds very true when you are out on the road as a taxi driver spending hours and hours making a living).

All the best from me too, Joetanks.

Hi Transporter,

You can log into your Driver Portal the very next working day to check whether the money has been processed and paid to you.

Good luck and drive safe.

Hi! I have a cab charge which is the latest, there's no magnetic stripe and work like EZ link card, tried a few times and managed to succeed in transaction only 3 out 6 taxi trips. I don't understand why comfort give a go ahead on this card when majority of the drivers were not prepared
FYI ; i worked part time and the cab charge is a corporate card from my companyfurious
