I started early but the other taxi reach first?

Wanted to check with fellow bros & sis here.

2 taxis on call. . I got around 3-5 min head start from the other taxi.

Started from Swiss cottage secondary school to 20 bedok South road.

The other taxi reached first and apparently cheaper fare than me from the conversation I heard between both side passengers.

I was thinking how is it possible.

What route would you take?

I took PIE exit Bedok North exit .. right turn bedok north ave 1 all the way down.

I was travelling on Lane 1 almost all the way .. average 100km/hr .. with no jam except the bottleneck before Old Police Academy

Didnt see the other taxi during the journey until the end when i was doing a U-Turn at the Bedok South Road/Bedok South Ave 1 junction.. I was queuing to U-Turn when i saw the other taxi turn into the destination
