Hoping senior or "old bird" SMRT uncles can help to advice below doubts;
1) My dad is in the "pipeline" of getting his service terminated by Comfort (process of appealing now) due to 2 consecutive complaints from customers. Can he join SMRT if his appeal is unsuccessful and terminated by Comfort?
2) Will SMRT conduct a reference check on my dadwith Comfort ifhe submits Relief Application form to SMRT?
3) Can my dad choose not to indicate "termination of service" by Comfortwhen he fills up SMRT relief driver application form?
4) Does relief needs to pay security deposit to SMRT prior to start driving? If yes, what willbe the amount and can it be paid monthly instead?
Hi, hope the following helps if it is not too late. My answers in [ ].
2) Will SMRT conduct a reference check on my dad with Comfort if he submits Relief Application form to SMRT?
[Usually the taxi companies do not perform cross reference checks. But my friend was terminated by SMRT due to too many accidents. Tried to join Comfort, but was unsuccessful. No worries, if cannot join SMRT, just join Transcab. That one easy, no questions asked.].
3) Can my dad choose not to indicate "termination of service" by Comfort when he fills up SMRT relief driver application form? [Your dad should straight away apply to join as SMRT relief driver even before Comfort terminates him. In this way, he need not declare that since it is not known during application. Alternatively, just quit Comfort and join SMRT rather than wait for Comfort to terminate him].
4) Does relief needs to pay security deposit to SMRT prior to start driving? If yes, what will be the amount and can it be paid monthly instead? [Yes. SMRT is $1,500 I believe. Pay some amount first ($500 or something, cannot remember) and the rest in instalments over 6 months].
