i believe what taxiuncle say is correct...otherwise there'll be too much admin work for all coys...i still believe comfort has a better edge on call booking

yes bro taxilao...the 3 incentives are call booking, cheaper diesel & able for cashless payment... the other day same like what bro cabbyjoe said...i was at Amara hotel 2nd cab on the queue...this pax came to my cab & i said please take the front one...he said the silver cab dun have credit facilities...i said ok then...im sure the silver cab knn me in silence w/o knowing pax needed credit payment
bro camry...yes the present mister said there'll be a central call booking system...i bet my bottem dollar that since LSL gonna re-shuffle the cabinet...that million dollarman in lta might not be there...so suggestions made could be washed away in the wind haha
Bro fairfare,
Correct me if I am wrong but I thought passengers are at liberty to take whichever taxi in the queue, as long as they join thequeue correctly? Some reasons could be:
1) Passengerdon't like lookof thetaxi driver in front
2) Front taxi possibly do not accept corporate, nets or credit cards
3) Passenger probably don't like Silver Cabs
4) Front taxi could be very dirty 5) Front taxi probably display changing shift but not to place passenger wants to go.
well you are not wrong in your views...for me its more ethical that pax shd take the 1st cab in the Q...that cabby also need to make $...too bad if the cab did'nt suit the pax...imagine if pax pick & choose sonata instead of crown (no offence hor)...sure alot of knn flying
unless pax give reasons as in your (2) & (5)
also we do meet pax outside Q less than 100m from taxi stand as TS has a long Q so these pax want to jump Q & flag outside less than 100m away...so do you pick or tell pax sorry you need to join Q?
besides we can be booked for taking pax less than 100m from taxi stand...but i do see taxi driver stop & pick...for me again its ethical that pax shd wait at Q instead of playing KS

Well, I encountered that situation before when I was driving and like you said, I will tell the passenger to board the one in front as a matter of ethics. As for those who do not join the queue, I will refuse to pick them and tell them to join the queue.
taxi drivers would pick anyone on the street after midnite, no question asked. juz look at clark quay n zouk.

Hmmm.... personally i felt its not a great idea in wat so call lta control the booking system. we hv mess up prblms in the cab fares, fantastic erps.top smart brains planning on taxi stands in city areas, etc. system call bookings?? what a big joke. lta cant even do a great job in that feild and still wants to take over on call booking system? now even though the so call booking system is inplemented.. bros...pls rememeber .... which cab coy hv the biggest fleet? will pax choose to take less fleets of cab coy or the big bro? common sense tells... kick me if i am wrong in tht sense.
Gentlemen, although it's merely $3 lower, but it's $90/mth, equal to a day rent. Moreover, coy is willing to make this adjustment which i feel is a big deal. With 15,000 cab, that's 1.35mil/mth. We have many complaints against the coy but i strongly feel we shouldn't be unhappy in this case. It's not juz $3 to me, it's a step to show that it's trying to keep us with them, which in a way is an advantage to us. In fact i'm gona send them a feedback thru the portal and thank them for the change. Cabbies highlight for a lower in rental, they did it, so they are listening, shouldn't we thank them for listening to us this once? Moreover, by thanking them will also show that we appreciate what they are doing and in return encourage them to listen more. However, i have a gut feeling that the diesel rebate may be taken off in the near future. Anyway i will still thank them cos they can totally maintain the rental rate and take off the diesel rebate too.
Bro bluenuts,
In a way taxi drivers should appreciate the goodwill gesture from CDG for the phasing out models like Crown & Cedric. The other possible reasons could be the following:
1) Competition from other taxi companies offering newer models. 2) Automatic gear transmission like Sonatais getting popular resulting in many Crowns & Cedric left in yard. 3) Existing drivers requesting for change to Automatic transmission taxis as it is less stressful on the knees. 4) Taxi drivers should beprepared for the next round of increase possibly from diesel.
2 of the old drivers i met was told by comfort that they would not be getting new sonata after they scraped their old crown next month. they have to settle with returned crown in the yard or jump ship. NO MORE NEW TAXI.
Latest info from my communication with a friend in CDG this morning at 9.30am. There are other reasons for reduction in rental but the main reason is competition from other taxi companies.
I have this feeling that CDG is confident that not many of their drivers would not jump ship for the simple reason that CDG is well-equipped for call-bookings and competitive in diesel price. Besides, the existing stock of Crowns and Cedrics lying in the yard still have quite a number of years to go before scrapping and they are trying to promote and rent out this lot. I belief Toyota is still not ready with the Euro 4 version of the Crown and I think too that CDG is more keen on Toyota than other brands, purely for the reliability.

This afternoon I went to comfort and check out their package to be their hirer. They told me that if comfort decide to scrap your toyota crown, they will replace you with a new sonata and we do not need to sign a 1 year contract. Now why got 2 versions and which version is correct.

CDG can be telling you a different story becos they want your biz. i think a new sonata is available only for new member becos that is the carrot to attract you. as for the 2 old birds, i think CDG knows they wouldn't jump ship n thus only offered them with old crown.
so did you take up the offer? since you are OMO, why didnt you consider prime cab with CNG?
It seem that Comfort call booking system is the main attraction for people to choose Comfort. I would like to ask all Comfort members, how many calls you all get a days?

I drive short-term citicab and I get around 15 calls a day both advance and current bookings when I cruise aroun Bukit Timah area, away from the Mrt lines. Dunno if they are trying to recruit me to drive fulltime by giving me the incentives.
