bro akuma

if there's a TS nearby in cbd its a no no to drop pax at bldg they want (provided that bldg has a drop point or driveway)...dun donate morn's earnings to garmen

met one cabbie at coffeeshop who says Orchard Rd is not under cbd ruling even tho there's a gantry & the $3 surcharge i.e. can pick & drop anywhere in Orchard Rd except the bus lane...any bros wanna confirm?confused

Bro,

This is where I find the irony lies...

Orchard road b4 scotts n patterson ..eg Wheelock / liat towers ...no city surcharge

Orchard road after this junction ..Wisma / Lucky Towers ...u can charge city surcharge...

THis is a classic example where some rules are really gray...

Therefore I suggest as long as you pass a gantry in town ...just treat it as CBD n you would ot be violating any rules....

bro, the rule applies to CBD area which definitely includes the Orchard CBD. Hope that helps.smile

If the place where you pick up a pax can charge the city surcharge, then it's consider CBD.
CBD T/S rule applies to all CBD area, ORCHARD ROAD is definitely CBD.
Sophia Road, Wilkie Road are CBD too.
You can get a copy of the latest street directory to confirm which are the CBD areas, they outline the area with red lines.
Buildings in the CBD with proper drop off point will not be bound by the T/S rule.
Perhaps bro akuma can tell us which building was it that the pax want you to let her alight so we can give you a definite answer.

I have had many pax asking to drop them off at UIC building and when I offered to drop them Opposite at the T/S by DBS buidling they grumble and go on about crossing the road. Sometimes whe the traffic is light I oblige them at risk of getting a fine>

bro drive

i would'nt do that if i were you...go to the TS

two reasons...dun risk the 'fine' & dun give the impression that the rule of TS is working well...perhaps public might give FB to ltahmm

Bro Drive, offer them a safer alternative.
The carpark of Singapore Symphony Orchestra is juz beside UIC, you can alight pax there so they don't have to cross the road and you won't be penalised.
It's pax duty to complain about the rule but it's our hard earn money that's going to sm1 else FAT wallet.

Many a times we oblige our customer but the burden of risk are stack against us therefore it is better to abid by the rule or we have to bite the bullet ourself. Really not worth it unless the pax is not in good condition or handicap.
