Still low fares of taxis ! Foreign drivers driving lorries speeding and lack vehicle control ! Joyrides of vans and lorries ! Drivers sriving family ! Companies should restrict the timing of use and limit their personal use of lorries and delivery trucks !
Flag down fare should be increase to $5 to offset the rising cost of fuel. Prices of fuel is shooting up like nobody's business... ERP charges should be reduces significantly or removed, nowadays $20 cashcard easily finish in 2 days. Have more fuel efficient vehicles as taxis on the road...
in business world...even if we've fuel efficient as the alternative...it's a question of time before these would also be increased...its a vicous cycle
the only wayto survive isfor LTA to cap the total taxi population in s'pore...thus ext'g ones may have a chance to survive to overcome the fuel increase

Bring in the TUKS TUKS to reduce fuel and rental cost and also cut down pollution. Most peopletake taxiseither alone or at most3 persons on average.There's nothing shameful forLTA to implement it.
Bro TDO, i disagree with the intro of smaller size motor vehicle as taxi. Our population is not big enuf, our taxi population is more than enuf. Anymore new taxi, regardless of size will only share a very small pie which we are having now. Alternative fuel is a better approach, another one will be to reduce the total motor vehicle population here, don't you think there's too many cars on the road? And don't forget the "public" transport are going to make our pie even smaller in the very near future.
