I was at the zoo this evening queuing for pax around 10plus with a long queue strecthing to the entrance gantry.A Comfort Merc was infront of me.This merc cabby refused to pick up this part time zoo lady staff which was going to Jln Mambong which is only 4 KM away from zoo.He dared to tell her his cab only go to Orchard.Instead of creating a scene,i offered to send her as she told me she got her leg injured.During the conversation in the cab,she told me this is not the first time she or her colleague have face this scenario as most of the part time staff in zoo stay nearby those HDB housing estate area like Woodlands,Bukit Panjang the so called "Black Area".My advise is this,if any cabby want to queue at Zoo,accept your fate.Instead of giving excuse to the pax that you have been queuing for so long blah blah blah,you better on your meter and get going.I am not hesitate to take out my camera and shoot the Taxi nos.plate to lodge a complain to LTA the next time if things happen.You queue and waited so long,other cabby also queue so long.Just be fair to other cabby and accept the fate.If not,you just drive and go away from the stand (empty cab).angered.gif

Agreed with bro taxistand. But you can still see many merc driver doing it. Sonner or later they will get it from LTA. Tell the pax to just take down the taxi number and report to LTA. This is happening in many places.... Yesterday saw 1 group of mercs drivers touting at the lobby before the taxi stand at tanah merah ferry terminal. They all hang aroung there and if ang mo or tourist looking pax come out they will move in like a group of bees to honey. So sad...they look so desperate...

Hahaha !!! Yesterday I pick up one man from from hotel grand Central who walk pass all the Merc limo and flag me down to Changi business park. Then coming out along Expo I pick one Indonesian Broadcast asia attendee to Changi Hotel then to Harbourfront. I ask why he didn't take the Taxi in front of me and he said he didn't want Limo...heheheh!...but Sonata is half limo no !!biggrin

problem is no one want to report it to lta at all! can do a check with the staff, which i had take them b4... and is soo long almost 2 yrs back...

but a lot of merc cab still doing these, same go to birdpark, everyday i start my shift will go there for 1st customer... sometime saw so many merc there, and all of themtell me they want to change shift, so they wave to me to go to the 1st place to pick up, as they have ask the customer where they go, so jurong need me to pick them...

I hate this type of driver who always want to eat all the meat and throw the bones for others. If you make up your mind to queue in taxi stand just like airport whoever boarded your taxi just drive off. It all depend on your own luck. All this drivers must be reported to LTA.

one nite will come when these limo open their cab door...cobra will go in to the driver's seat & bite their bola...then bola will be big like limobiggrinbiggrin

This thing is not jus happen in Zoo or Bird Park even in city area t/stand some "lau gui" normal cab drivers also doing the same thing.

all the touting merz has gone after the fare hike in dec last year.
for the last few weekends, i saw them coming back to novetel hotel
at clark quay waiting for red meat to eat. wink

It is an offence to refuse a pax from a T/S.
If a cabbie is changing shift, he muz show his shift changing location and can only ask the 1st three pax in que and if all three pax not going to his shift changing direction, the cabbie muz move off without pax on board.
This is the rule in LTA Taxi rule book.

Bro Bluenuts,

That is provided they have their change shift sign indicating the location on their taxi. But obviously most of these taxis are waiting for Red meat to come to them. Let me see any I sure take photo of them and report them. Leaving nearby cannot take taxi is it ?
