RE: Russian roulette

Complaining to LTA

You must have sufficient evidence and if possible witness. I did this before and below is brief scenario.

I was a night shift driver and so happen some months ago my hirer ask me to take over him so I was OMO for about 4 days and one morning I decide to start earlylike 5am but did not know where to ply and after some 20 kn without any luck get into this hotel in town and was the 1st in the que. 1 limo merc came and driver went inside hotel and another cab came and line in 3rd. Due to entrance both cabs are line after the carpark opening. To cut long story short the 3rd cab went to outside the front lobby after about 25mins wait when he saw guest leaving the hotel. he took their bagguage and lead them to borad his cab. I drove forward and flash my lights at him but he ignore, so I took down his can number and wrote in to LTA.

LTA call after receiving the letter and the officer ask me if I am willing to testify in court if the other driver dispute the case.i have also to go down to LTA to give them my statement. According to LTA if the driver dispute after LTA serving him, the case will be handle by the court and if the court find that he is guilty and for going to court the penalty will be more severe than the origin one. This is their usual procedure.

To these arrogant cabby who think they can twist and bend the rules to their own benefit,my advise is like what Hokkien words said "zhou lang agar agar",don"t think other are people are stupid and you are the only smart one.You want me to waste my time,it is fine for me.I don"t mind WASTING my time going to LTA,want to play, play bigger lor!My intention is to ɱһ¾´°Ù.Only in this case,i think we can minimize these kind of cabby.

About 2 months after the incident LTA wrote to me informing me they have completed their investigation and offer a $100 fine and 3 points to the driver concern, also stating that if it is refuted by him then I shall need to testify in court.

So far no news after that so I presume case settle and closed.

Actually I only wrote in after much considerations, especially in view of the arrogant manner the driver had behave. In any case I surely believe that if we have been wrong, and depending on the sequences of the events and situations at certain times we have to stand up to our rights.

I hope it will not really affect him but more so a lesson for him to learn or ugly incident like cabbies fighting with each other for fares and breaking news will tarnish our profession.

Bro G,

The limo merc cabbie should learnt his expensive lesson by now. Actually, they should wake up liao when there was a lots of publicity late last year before the fare hike.

The moral of the story is sow what you reap. Plant papaya seed dun expect to get D24 or mountain cat in return, right?

Bro RadioGaGa,

It was the 3rd cab which is not the limo cab. Limo cab got special connection and was in the hotel after he came.

Take it ez bro pirate, limo taxi drivers are cabbies too and not all are bad.
I know a handful which are really good and are really dissapointed at what some of the fellow limo cabbies are doing.
It's the same as some normal cabbies bringing bad name to cabbies like you, me and so many.
Besides, if we want STC to grow, single out certain coy taxi or certain type of taxi fault is not good for us.
All cabbies are alike and equal, whether your taxi is Blue, Yellow, Red, Green, Silver, Copper or White, as long the taxi sign on top of it and they are driving it, they are family.
Hope members understand where i'm coming from.
