A taxi driver was disappointed that his kind deed in helping to pick up a heavily pregnant woman cost him a booking, when he apparently picked her up at a non-pickup point in the CBD area.
He said:
"I was in the Chinatown area at about 3pm on May 2 when a heavily pregnant woman, who was due in a about 10 days' time, hailed for my cab at the junction of Temple Street and New Bridge Road."
He said he did not pick her up from a taxi stand.
Said the taxi driver:
"The woman said she was in pain and needed to go to KK hospital urgently, so I decided to help and pick her up."
According to the taxi driver, he saw what seemed to be a traffic officer on motorcycle following him along Outram Road, but the officer made a U-Turn after that.
He said nearly two months later, he received a letter from the LTA, and realised that he had been booked for picking up the pregnant woman.
The driver said that the reason why the letter reached him late because the address written on the letter was wrong and that there was 'no such address in Singapore'.
He said he got the contact details of the pregnant woman and appealed to the LTA, explaining that he took pity on the heavily pregant woman and so stopped for her.
However, his appeal was rejected, he said.
When he pointed out the mistake in the address sent out by LTA, he said he was ignored.
I ever saw a taxi stopped along new bridge road to let a pax alight. Then I found a officer standing at a side street and wait for the pax to alight and walk off. Immediately the officer walked out to the driver to book him. Why didnt the officer walked out and book the cabby and warn the pax instead of waiting for the pax to walk off. Really idiot .
it doesnt pays to be good nowsaday... not tomolo not toto day not 4D day but maybe some day that u did not knows and u r rewarded in another form... BUT, its quite sad to see LTA all out to book taxis and the taxi ASSOCIATION* ARSE*OLESS* does not even bother about cabbies fate.. wats the use of these associatios??? might as well disband all of them.... its also due to some damn jislat cabbies that makes other cabbies life difficult... like at the JOHN HANkock taxi stand, pls do not turn left out immediately.. its double white line.... make a round if u needs to go by shenton way... tell the pax immediately when they board yr taxi that u will not turn left to go straight, and tell them yr reason, if they not happy BO PIAN.. its our $$$$ that CB LTA will collect and not the paxs.. infact the paxs makes us lose $$$ if u turn left for them

I know the answer liao.
2 things
1st this kind of money cannot be earned, must learn to let go even if it is peak hours.
2nd, never pay to be kind or pity old man, lady and etc. bcos you never know what will happens.
I learnt the hard way and the $ way when the full day bus lane started last year.
