From Monday, September 1, two stretches of normal bus lanes along Geylang Road and Sims Avenue will be converted into full-day bus lanes.
The full-day bus lane scheme operates from 7.30am to 8pm on all weekdays and Saturdays, except public holidays. Currently, these two stretches of normal bus lanes operate only during peak hours on weekdays.
The extension has been implemented to allow buses to move quickly and make public transport a more favourable choice.
According to surveys, what bus commuters find most important is waiting time and travelling time, said a Land Transport Authority statement. As buses are more efficient carriers of commuters, it is necessary to give priority to buses so that more commuters reach their destinations on time, the statement added.
Locations of New Full-Day Bus Lanes:
Road Name Start End
Geylang Road (towards City) Sims Way Kallang Road
Sims Avenue (towards Paya Lebar) Kallang Road Sims Way
what about buses running out of bus lanes???...who shall we report to???

Do what I saw 2 days ago along Victoria street. A pte car stop suddenly stop infront of a SMRT bus and then slowly opened the car door to get out of his car and then opened his bonnet to "see" his engine compartment and when the bus driver started to horn at this driver, a quarrel started, fingers pointing and so on.
The bus was stranded for awhile with its driver's balls shrunk.

Come to think of it, I think the car driver is simply showing his frustation with the many new rulings on the road. Or possibly, the bus driver must have offended him in some way.
I did the same thing to a driver at the traffic light junction between Beach Road and Bras Basah Road towards the direction of NIcoll Highway some years ago. I was first in queue at the lights and behind me was a Toyota Corolla driven by a somewhat "Beng" who stopped phucking close to my car. The moment light turned Green, he sounded his horn. I said to myself, PHUCK! I turned off my engine, opened my door, waved to the car behind that my car engine turned dead, opened the bonnet to pretend to check what's wrong, then close the bonnet and restart the engine adn drove off just as the traffic light turned Amber. Off course this idiot can't mover off after me. He's too close to overtake my car.
So you see, if you find an irritating driver behind you, just keep your cool and wait for the right moment to teach him a courtesy and patience lesson.
