I was travelling along AYE(near NUS) towards Jurong on Saturday(6th Sept) night at around 10.45pm. As it was raining and visibility was not very good, I went at 60-70km/hr and kept to the extreme left lane. On the 2nd lane I saw this blue comfort taxi tailgating the car in front of him. He was about 2 car lengths diagonally in front of me. I saw him trying to inch into my lane without signalling his intention. But as it was already too close I couldn't let him pass, I tapped on my horn to signal my arrival. Obviously I think this driver didn't like people to horn him even if it was to warn him. I was entering the Clementi exit. This taxi driver just zoomed passed me on my right, he was close to scrapping my car already. So I horned and high beamed him but he zoomed off very quickly. He was so fast I couldn't see his number plate. He turned right to go to Clementi while I turned left to go to West Coast.
To this driver, if you happen to be in this forum to see this post, please wake up your idea!! Hello!!! It was raining and you had passengers in your taxi(I saw them while driving pass his taxi). If you want to play with your life, do it other ways. Not while you have passengers!!!
What's with these drivers nowadays? Are they training for the upcoming F1 race?? I'm not discriminating taxi drivers and I have met some good ones too. These are the black sheep of the lot.
Bro EL77, wat the taxi driver did was wrong but maybe u can consider this in the future. Upon notice some motorist driving in a danger manner, e.g tailgating, speeding etc, and may cause accident that you may get involve, slow down or give way. I know you have the right of way but instead of tapping your horn or hi-beam your lights to alert them, juz slow down and give way, you don't lose anything from it but you may avoid an accident that you may get in to. Be defensive, you can't determine how others drive, but you can determine yours.

Aiyah !! Maybe he was one of the cabbies who got comprain by Pax for driving too slowly so in Frustration He starts to speed. I also do that and try to make a few sharp turn without braking to take the SHIIT out of the pax. As Cabbies, we should try to understand other cabbies.
