CNG Taxi

Recently sat on a few CNG taxi - van type, MPV type , SUV type

General comments by them

1. Slow pick up
If you see a potential customer 100metres away, there is always merc, sonata or skoda appearing on your right side , smile at you , and will zoom past to pick it up

Generally I feel that CNG driver drive very slowly , not that they want , its just that no torque lah

2. Engine can die half way when do emengency brake or going too slowly or after stop start. There's once where he just come out of small road to the main road , suddenly the engine stall , and a lorry is approaching fast and furious, this guy jump out of the taxi for safety, luckily the lorry brake in time. I think its due the combustion nature of CNG , maybe doesn't burn readily.

3. $5,000 deposit (others $1,000.00 only)

4. 5-year contract , break contract deposit kenna confiscated

5. The $11,000 rebates is a gimick (The company actually collect $6.00 every day so at the end of the five years give you back)

6. Free rental days (whats that ?)

7. CNG pump price used to be cheap around 90c but since has risen to 1.70

8. Need to top up frequently , to make matters worst long queue at CNG station and imagine if you at the wrong side of the island and left with 1/4 tank , must pia back to pump

9. Cannot fill up full easily, sometimes pump abit the gun jump up already

10. A lot of their friends wanna give up but not choice cannot find people to take over so LL must lun 5 years

Hope the above do not scared off potential CNG takers

I was smart (smarter than the smart-ass company) enough to foresee the situation hence I'm back with my lovely sonata. Pity the guy who took over my camry taxi... hehe... good luck bro!

If that's true, the Lansai Transport Askhole is not doing their job, safety is very important to its divers and the passengers.

Then the more they (the driver) MUST report/feedback to the respective ppl.

They are endangering not only their lives, paxs and others as well.

The driver say the head go to dunno which country to meeting / feedback to the manufacturer but no outcome , the driver is more interested to rtn the taxi instead of driving that crap, once bitten twice shy ! evileye.gif

In singapore they need to have a fatal accident to happen before they will take some action. Its just like why the law require everyone to belt up but those public buses do not require any ? School bus and excursion bus all do not allow people to stand while bus is moving but public buses can. They want to earn money yet do not want to ensure people safety just because they want to cut cost.

bro, i think u have miss the main point completely.
it's not about the no. of kiosks, its about the PERFORMANCE of the vehicle.
can u imagine, your cab just suka suka stalled in the middle of the road
and a truck is coming fast and furious behind u?!?!
u might even pee and sh*t in your pants.......
and it's no laughing matter.
Life is at stake here.

Stalling is due to poor tuning.

CNG as alternate fuel is a viable but complex matter.
why would MNCs invest in a losing venture?
(Think Mercedes NGT, SemGas, SBS CNG Bus, scantruck etc... )

Market economy, demands and supply overwhelmed infrasture.

Please do more research,
the facts are available out there.

Weigh the pros and cons,
read up the history and have a broader, balance view.
