Cabbies carry ads for company but don't get share of profits
A STOMPer was impressed with the cabs that have touchscreens chock-full of information and advertisements affixed to its headrests, but wonders why the cabby doesn't get a share of the profits generated from this. He says:
"This picture was taken inside a local taxi when I boarded it from Holland Village to Alexandra Village.
"The screen looked like a computer screen affixed to the back of the front passenger seat. There were various touchscreen buttons and I was thrilled to play with the various buttons to access the various pages.
"They had sections such as: What's hot, Hotel, Restaurant, Shopping, Sightseeing and Recreation, Nightlife and Movie.
"After a short while I began to ask the cabby some questions about the provision of the touchscreen.
"He expressed his grouses as prior to the fixing of this list of advertisements, the company charged him a certain sum for rental per day.
"Now after the installation of this list of advertisements, the company, having earned revenue from the various advertisers, did not pass a fraction of the benefits to the drivers.
"He was unhappy that after the extra earnings from advertisements, the company did not reduce his daily rental for the taxi.
"He had expected the company to at least pass part of the earnings to the driver, who drives eight to 10 hours each day." --------------------------------------------------00000000-------------------------------------- and here's a response from public:-
This screen is irritating. I am a regular commuter of taxi. When I board the taxi, I always switch it off.
ComfortDelgro, PLEASE don't on it when the taxi driver on the meter. On it only upon passenger's request!

If you are willing to admit faults, you have one less fault to admit.
Comfort rather waste money installing the touchscreen tv for pax to enjoy than to install a cctv to protect the driver. The cost for installing the touchscreen surely cannot be cheaper than a simple cctv. After all it is the driver who is paying the rental and spending the whole day in the taxi and how long can a pax get to use it since singapore is only a small dot on the world map.
bros.. hirer was paid $ when they go in for installations of the screen... at least the coy got some profit from this and wont squeeze us.. i belief that some ads coy provide the screens too and coy only take coms from them as its do costt quite abit to install it and not all ads fee goes to coy i think... just my tots.. correct me if i wrong
