I too thought taxi driving is not that difficult b4 I started to drive. Those taxi uncle are grumbling for everything.Just drive from point A to B what so difficult??Many people drive from S'pore to Kl ,Ipoh or Penang some even to Thailand also no problem. Only those who had tried will know the pain & agony of taxi driving.. In my opinion TD is good for those who are driving for daily expenses. i.e No more housing loan to worry, children had grown up. Better if grown up children can bring back few hundred $ every month. For those with a young family is very tough. As bro bluenuts put it...after trying out for a few month he will sing a different tune... I quote from STRAIT TIMES 1st April... Premier's Mr Lim said "We have many newly retrenched people...But they leave after three,four months because they can't make a decent living".
