We had been informed by Land Transport authority that taxis had been queuing beyond taxi stands along Orchard Road. Their Enforcement Officers had in the past few months been quite lenient on their enforcement action, taxis found queuing beyond taxi stand were advised to leave the queue but they had noted that the situation did not improve.
The Land Transport Authority had indicated that to ensure the smooth flow for buses along the bus lanes, they will start to issue Notice of Offence to taxi drivers who queue beyond the taxi stands along Orchard Road from 2 April 09 onwards.
We urge all cabbies to observe and abide by the rules when you queue along Orchard Road Taxi Stand, so that you will not be booked by Land Transport Authority Officer.
Closure of Chatsworth Road
This is to inform you that the taxi stand along Chatsworth Road outside the Indonesian Embassy will be closed from 8am to 3pm on 9 Apr 09 due to an event organised by the embassy.
Traffic along this road will also be expected to be slow road during the festivity and traffic wardens may be deployed to control the traffic situation. A temporary taxi stand will be set up further down the road close to the round-about leading to Chatsworth Ave during the closure of the original taxi stand. -----------------------------------------------000000000000000---------------------------- we cant use bus lanes; we cant pick paxs along bus lanes; we cant queue at taxi stands (some only 2 or 3 taxi yellow boxes)....LTA better say taxis stay away from Orchard Road once & for all

at least for 5 days to let them know. everything they also blame the TD. like thailand. airport no cab, orchard no cab... then they will sit down talk to us. then ok, cab can go into bus lane etc, since we provide transport to public too! Queue at taxi stand allows longer for certain place, more new rules out!
Actually, all we need to do is abide the rules, i don see what's wrong with that? If all cabbies observe these rules strictly, i don think i will see many cab wana go into those area empty. In the end who got the most complaints?? Definitely not us lah.... So what's the prob??

one newbie question.....if the taxi stands got long Q........normally where do u alight your paxs? some taxi stands got no alighting bay for paxs.............esp inside cbd area.........

I alight them at the front of the queue. Only yesterday, I did that and before the door closed a couple jumped into my cab and I asked them politely to take the taxi in the queue but they insisted to take my cab. Pai seh ! To the bros in the queue but this fellow insist on my cab so I drove off. Like that How ???

To the bros in the queue but this fellow insist on my cab so I drove off. Like that How ???

Bro Drive, believe it or not, i will not take the pax. Same goes to pax that try to jump que at VIVO Giant T/s when there's long que of pax. I will apologise and ask them politely to take the 1st taxi in que. I'm in control, not them, i don't move, what can they do? They choose my cab and ignore fellow cabbies in que, then i can sure choose them too. I believe in what goes around comes around. Just my 2cts.

Ah ha...bro music you've ask a very good qn. There are a few places that is chaotic at certain times, CQ is one of them, hence the rule don't applies during those certain times. But these few days hard lah, the taxistand got no pax most of the times. Btw, bro Drive is referring to a scenario when he drop pax off in front of the 1st taxi in que, which is very common in most t/s, that's different. Put yourself in the shoe of the 1st taxi in que, how will you feel? From there, you decide your action.
